Dell i5559-1350SLV 15.6 inch HD Laptop

Silver matte Dell i5559-1350SLV is a 2016 model hot new release sleek and stylish 15.6 inch laptop as part of the Dell 5000 series for regular daily computing tasks, video and song playing, internet browsing and pretty much anything other than advanced gaming, with its Intel i3 processor with a Passmark benchmark score of around 3500, putting it in the high end category and is good for multimedia and office tasks and anything demanding. So the technical specs include the sixth generation Skylake ultra low voltage dual core Intel i3-6100U processor (3MB L3 cache) at fixed 2.3GHz speed without turbo boost but hyper-threading for two cores to handle four threads in parallel for some extra performance boost, multitasking power of 6GB DDR3L SDRAM (4GB + 2GB), large 1TB SATA HDD storage at 5400rpm rotating speed if you will be saving a lot of files including videos and photos or if you might need that additional space and the pre-installed Windows 10 operating system with Cortana Personal Assistant, Microsoft Edge browser, familiar Windows 7-like Start menu and other new user friendly features, faster boot-ups that make it a better choice than the previous Win 8 and 8.1. 6GB memory is more than enough for most laptop customers but the system supports an upgrade of up to 16GB (replacing the existing memory with 2 x 8GB) if you will be running more software and browsers at the same time. 15.6 inch LED-backlit non-touch diagonal screen has the regular high definition resolution of 1366×768 pixels and there is a decent high definition webcam at the top.

And the built-in graphics card is the Intel HD 520 that could be compared to the dedicated GeForce 820M in overall performance and you’ll be OK with general multimedia stuff but can only run a few of the games of 2016 at lower settings. Waves MaxxAudio and stereo speakers deliver good quality sound for your games and videos. Inspiron i5559 has a sleek and modern design- looks good in silver, weighs 5.4 pounds and measures 10.2 x 14.9 x 0.9 inches- is less than 1 inch thick. This model includes an Optical DVD Drive for reading and writing to DVDs and CDs, a USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output, 802.11 ac wireless with better coverage and speed, Bluetooth 4.0 10/100Mbps Ethernet with RJ-45 connector and a 3-in-1 Media Card Reader for transferring data from the media cards. There is no SSD on this but a very large 1024GB storage at 5400rpm, which kind of affects the performance, especially when you’re opening your files and you can always upgrade it to a Solid State Drive as they are not so expensive anymore. With a Thermal Design Power of 15 watts, battery life should be an easy 4-5 hours from its 4-cell 40Whr lithium ion battery for things like video streaming or net surfing and the battery is removable. You will probably not be purchasing this machine for gaming purposes as there is no dedicated graphics card on it but a reasonable integrated Intel HD 520 for daily multimedia tasks and light gaming. Keyboard is not backlit but has nice feeling keys, a 10-key numeric pad and a good size responsive Precision touchpad to use with Windows 10 apps. This is a solid choice for home, work or school use, everything will run smoothly on it but we do not recommend it for gaming purposes. You have a good combination of fast performance and reasonable price tag here and it is already one of the best selling new computers on the market.
