2016 Dell Inspiron i3847 Flagship High Performance Desktop
2016 model Inspiron i3847 is the new flagship model of Dell with very high performance overall of the super powerful quad core Intel i7 processor with a Passmark benchmark score of a bit over 10,000, very large memory and very spacious hard drive and is designed to handle any task you want to perform and grat multitasking of these tasks with zero delays or freezing. Intel i7-4790 (8MB Cache) is a quad core CPU at 3.6GHz up to 4.0Ghz speeds with turbo boost and hyper threading for performance boost (4 cores to handle 8 threads in parallel). 16GB DDR3L SDRAM (8GBx2 1600MHz) is more multitasking power than what majority of computer users will need and this system will be an overkill if you’re intending to do basic daily things like net surfing, typing up documents on Word but you will be sure that there will never be lagging or pauses when you move the cursor and everything will run smoothly no matter how many browsers or programs you run simultaneously. 2TB HDD at 7200rpm Serial ATA 6Gb/s rotating speed is again more than what most people will need but if you are going to be saving lots of your videos, songs and photos on your computer, then you might need this extra space. 64-bit Windows 7 Professional is pre-installed on this system and is considered as the best Pro operating system for both business and home use and you get a free upgrade to Windows 10 before it expires this year and also a Win 8.1 Pro Disk if you prefer using that instead. Black Inspiron i3847 has a regular classic desktop design (nothing unusual, unique or spectacular here) with classic keyboard and mouse, weighs 17.5 pounds and measures 17.3 x 14.4 x 6.9 inches- so it is neither lightweight nor compact and will need a fixed spot near your desk.
Inspiron i3847 has a wide range of connectivity ports including a Tray Load 8XDVD+/-RW Optical Drive that writes and reads to DVD/CD (no Blu-Ray), an HDMI port, a VGA port, 802.11bgn wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet 2 x USB 3.0 ports at the rear for quicker data transfers, a Headphone output, 6 x USB 2.0 ports (2 front and 4 rear), 8 in 1 Media Card Reader that supports SD, SDHC, SDXC, MS, MS PRO, MMC, XD and MMC Plus. You can work on two monitors with the i3847 but monitor is not included and there is no dedicated graphics card as this is not designed as an advanced gaming machine and it includes a built-in Intel HD graphics with shared graphics and sound through the built-in 5.1 Audio and the quality of your sound will depend on the quality of speakers you use. There is also a wired keyboard (Dell KB113) and a wired USB 3-button optical mouse (Dell MS111) included in the package. This is a high end desktop computer with high end specs and features including a top of the range processor, very generous amounts of memory and hard drive, runs quietly, gives you the option to use with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Pro and the most respected Win 7 Pro is already pre-installed on it but a couple of things to point out would be the lack of Solid State Drive and a dedicated graphics card, you can always add the SSD with prices coming down and about the SSD, this is not really a gaming machine and the price tag is a bit low for including also a mid-range GPU. It is suitable for power users and mid-range users and may be a little too much for the entry level users that want the computer only for things like internet browsing but then it is not really an expensive machine and you will see it running everything- easy or difficult smoothly.
