The latest 2017 model HP Pavilion is a high-end desktop tower with a very modern design and good looks, a decent variety of connectivity ports like the latest wireless 802.11ac, a sixth generation late 2015 release i7 CPU with a very impressive benchmark score of just under 9000 for very fast yet quiet operation with no fan noise, great for everything other than advanced gaming. It is a very solid system with high technical specs including a high end quad core Intel i7-6700T processor (8MB cache) at 2.8 – 3.6GHz speeds with turbo boost and hyperthreading (4 cores to handle 8 threads in parallel), 12GB DDR4 memory at the faster 2133MHz speed for superior multitasking, a very spacious 2TB Serial ATA hard drive at 7200rpm rotating speed and Windows 10 64-bit operating system. Intel HD 530 graphics with a performance boost of around 25% on the previous Intel HD 4600 is good for some of the newer titles at low settings and OK frame rates per second and daily multimedia stuff and can handle a certain degree of multimedia editing too. HP finish in twinkle black Pavilion desktop tower has a contemporary design, weighs 13 pounds and measures 14 x 7 x 14 inches- is a little bulky but looks good.

It includes an Ultra Slim Tray SuperMulti DVD±RW Optical Drive to read and write to different media formats, advanced 802.11ac WiFi LAN for better internet, Bluetooth 4.0 to sync with other Bluetooth devices- speakers, printers etc., 10/100Base-T Ethernet LAN for wired internet access, an HDMI output + the older type VGA output so you have the double monitor- multi-display support, a 3-in-1 Media Card Reader that supports SD, SDHC and SDXC formats for simple photo transfers, 2 x USB 3.0 ports and 4 x USB 2.0 ports so you can connect a variety of peripherals, and Microphone and headphone jacks. 12GB DDR4 RAM is a lot of memory so you will experience no lagging or crashes even when you’re multitasking the demanding apps and programs and those advanced users that need more can actually upgrade it up to 16GB (two memory slots). For sound, you have the 5.1 channel audio and with the right kind of external speakers or through the monitor you will enjoy the good quality sound and please note that this will certainly depend on the quality of your speakers. You will not find a monitor in the package as this just the desktop tower with USB keyboard and mouse included. There is no SSD and you can get one and add it, but you’re given the extra large size 2TB mechanical drive at 7200rpm, which is certainly better than the 5400rpm, so your files will open a little faster than normal. Overall, for an average or even advanced users that want solid performance, it seems quite hard to beat for value.
