HP Pavilion17-g148cy TouchScreen Laptop

HP Pavilion 17-g148cy (N9E30UA) is a modern, entry level notebook with a large 17.3 inch HD+ touch display with mid-range specs such as the April 2014 release AMD A series processor, large storage and memory for multitasking power, at a low price because of being certified and refurbished, which means tested, cleaned, inspected, confirmed and reboxed to work and look like brand new and including a 90 day rather than a full year warranty but still comes with the original accessories of the brand new model, shipped probably in a generic box. This is a decent entry level to mid range 17 inch laptop with enough power to handle day to day work and entertainment- Microsoft Office, multimedia- video watching and simple photo editing and internet browsing with several browsers and programs open with mostly no delays or freezing. It includes the quad core AMD A4-6210 APU processor (2MB L2 Cache) at 1.8GHz speed without turbo boost or hyper threading and Passmark score of 2110 at the moment as a mid-range processor, 6GB DDR3L SDRAM (2DIMM), 1TB = 1024GB Serial ATA hard drive at 5400rpm rotating speed and 64-bit Windows 10 Home operating system that is much more popular than the previous Windows 8. For connectivity it has a Super Multi DVDRW Optical Drive, 802.11bgn wireless, 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet LAN and RJ-45 connector, Multi-Format Digital Media Card Reader, 2 x USB 3.0 ports with up to 10 times faster speeds, a USB 2.0 port, a Headphone-out/microphone-in combo jack and a 45W AC adapter.

Blizzard white HP Pavilion 17-g148cy is pretty to look at, weighs 6.74 pounds and measures 1.12 x 16.49 x 11.29 inches, so it is not quite a portable machine but should be considered as a desktop replacement and can be moved around the house easily. Full-size island type keyboard is not backlit but includes a numpad on the right hand side and a functional and responsive one piece Imagepad touchpad without left and right buttons that support multi gestures. 4-cell 41WHr 2.8Ah lithium-ion battery should give you an easy five to six hours as the Thermal Design Power for the system is 15 watts. 17.3 inch diagonal high definition plus WLED-backlit touch display has the 1600 x 900 pixel resolution and 16:9 cinematic aspect ratio for acceptable picture quality but not as sharp and clear as a Full HD with IPS panel. It includes the low mid range AMD Radeon R3 graphics card with 3328MB video memory that offers similar performance to the dedicated GeForce GT 520M or the integrated Intel HD 4000 which means you really can’t play any of the latest demanding games (not even at low settings and resolutions) but you’ll be perfectly fine with some of the older titles and decent audio through the Sound B&O PLAY with two stereo speakers. Standard but more than reasonable HP TrueVision high definition webcam that includes two array digital microphones is good for your live Skype chats with family and friends. This is not an amazing computer with top of the range specs and features but is certainly a decent 17 inch machine with touchscreen and good processor, memory and hard drive for your daily work and entertainment, including low end older games.
