Acer Aspire E 17 E5-773G-5464 17.3-inch Full HD Notebook

Charcoal gray Acer Aspire E 17 E5-773G-5464 (NX.G2BAA.001) is a powerful, large screen 17.3 inch Full HD mid-range laptop with high performance, great multimedia and decent connectivity options at a fair price for easier problem-free day-to-day computing and the ability to work with complex stuff when required as it includes some high end specs that make it good for business and personal needs as well as some gaming. It comes with a Skylake dual core Intel i5-6200U processor at 2.3GHz speed with turbo boost up to 2.8GHz and hyperthreading (two cores and four threads in parallel), 8GB DDR3L SDRAM for great multitasking power (up to 16GB is supported), 1TB Serial ATA hard drive at 5400rpm rotating speed (you can replace with an SSD for speed) and the latest Windows 10 operating system with features like InstantGo for much faster resume from sleep or boot ups, Cortana Personal Digital Assistant, Microsoft Edge browser and the Windows 7 Start menu. Quarter 2 of 2015 release Intel i5-6200U has a Passmark benchmark score of 3893 as a high to mid range processor and will offer fast performance and no lagging thanks to the large memory.

17.3 inch Comfy View LED-backlit Full HD display has the 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 16:9 image aspect ratio and the graphics card is the higher mid range NVIDIA GeForce 940M with 2GB dedicated video memory for playing the latest games at low to medium settings and resolutions and older games like Skyrim at high. Acer True Harmony High-Performance Sound System offers great immersive sound through the two integrated stereo speakers. The Skype Business Certified HD webcam offers more pixels and much better video and image quality at 24 fps so you can chat on Skype very comfortably. Stylish and premium looking yet practical and functional Acer Aspire E 17 has nice curves and pattern (looks good for the price but not as good as those very expensive all aluminium machines), weighs 6.61 pounds and measures 11.01 x 16.65 x 1.25 inches- fairly portable for a large 17 inch laptop but mostly to replace a desktop. Non-removable 4-cell lithium ion battery (2520 mAh) gives you about 5 hours on average use (not the best)- the sixth generation CPU is ultra low voltage with a TDP of just 15 watts but there is quite a bit of FHD screen space to handle as the higher the resolution the more battery it will consume.

Acer FineTip keyboard is not backlit but has large keys so you can type comfortably and accurately without missing keystrokes but is somewhat noisy, has a dedicated numpad for much easier numerical data entry with less errors and Precision Trackpad that supports multi gestures for intuitive and responsive navigation but may take a little practice. Connectivity options include 8X DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer Drive Optical Drive, the fast and large coverage 802.11ac wireless with MU-MIMO (multiuser, multiple input, multiple output) technology for more efficient networks and more stable and up to 3 times faster connection, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN with RJ-45 connector, Bluetooth 4.0, Secure Digital (SD) Digital Media Card Reader, Gigabit Ethernet, 2 x fast USB 3.0 ports (one of them with power-off charging), 2 x USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI output with HDCP support. USB ports are on the left near the front and the power outlet is on the right, both of which may seem unusual at first. Full HD display is beautiful with vibrant colours and sharp and clear picture but the viewing angles are not great due to the lack of IPS panel. It has a good quality solid plastic case, runs quietly and stays cool even after hours of operation or during heavy gaming as it doesn’t overheat. This is an excellent value computer with high end specs and features at a mid-range price.
