Haier Brew is a 4 cup capacity auto coffee maker that brews fresh coffee in under 5 minutes from regular ground coffee or whole beans of your choice as it comes with a built-in grinder. It is a flexible unit that gives you the option to make a single cup or two cups by selecting “1” with the dial and “2” to brew 3-4 small cups of coffee (up to 20 ounces) in a carafe. Blue light in the middle over the carafe indicates the grind cycle and if the red light flashes it indicates “Brew Cycle and Keep Warm”. It has a cylindirical filter for grinding coffee so you don’t need to purchase additional filters. You first need to fill the water tank where the unit draws in water, put your ground or whole beans into the bean section by making sure the top section is pressed down properly and choose either 1 or 2. It is very easy to operate and the spoon or scoop provided gives you a good measurement for each cup of espresso so use 2 scoops for 2 cups of espresso and 4 for 4 but the carafe size is not really for the real 4 cups, is for 4 small cups. It is easy to clean with the conveniently detachable grinding chamber, cover and filter basket (to be emptied into a compost bin). You’re always going to get better tasting coffee with fresh ground coffee beans so it is better if you buy coffee in smaller quantities. Taste of brewed coffee is reported be quite good by the customers with overall ratings averaging 4.5 / 5 out of 11 reviews which indicates this is a serious coffee making unit.

There is no timer on this coffee maker so you can’t preset things and no auto shut-off feature but a beep sound for when your coffee is brewed so you need to keep an eye on it when you’re making coffee which doesn’t take too long. Just make sure you pour the coffee from the carafe slowly if you do not want to make a mess. It can get a little loud when grinding but this shouldn’t be a major problem and one should probably appreciate having an efficient coffee grinder that grinds beans in about a minute at this lower price point, considering grinding manually can take time and effort.
