Denon AVR-S700W is the powerful 2014 model S Series 7.2-Channel Network Audio/Video Receiver with Bluetooth and wireless features for all your home entertainment needs.. 7 channel amplifier can deliver 75W power per channel at 8 ohms and up to 165 watts per channel at 6ohms.. Great connectivity ports- 6 HDMI inputs- 1 at the front and 5 at the rear, Audyssey MultEQ feature to make sure everything sounds great, 4k video experience.. So yes Flawless meets Wireless with Denon.

The first thing you will notice is it is very easy to set-up unlike the previous Denon models where it could get really complicated, so you can just follow the instructions on the step-by-step graphical and text guide optimising the sound quality without referring to the manual, which is very thorough by the way. It offers advanced configuration options and everything is easily accessible with menu button. Denon AVR-S700W is quite clever and remembers where you left off, if you were at Pandora when you turned it off, it will remember.

You won’t find any video apps like Youtube or Netflix set-up on this Denon and the focus is on audio, so you have things like Pandora, SiriusXM, Spotify and thousands of internet radio stations. But it still has great video features, with 6 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output (You can connect several HDMI source devices), compatible with 3D content and game inputs and Blu-Ray support 4K pass-through. The integrated Audyssey MultEQ with a calibration microphone will help you adapt the speakers and the receiver sound to the room you’re in.

Bluetooth lets you stream sound from Bluetooth enabled devices- your tablet, smart phone and portable media player wirelessly and Denon will recognise up to 8 portable devices. You have 5 HDMI inputs at the back and only 3 digital and 2 composite which can’t be changed to HDMI, 2 x Stereo RCA input, 1 x Composite Video output and an HDMI output for connecting high-res video to an external display. The remote control gives you the flexibility or you have the option to use your mobile phone as the remote control with the free app you can download. There is a front panel USB port you can use to hook up your iPad or iPod and charge and listen to music at the same time. AirPlay allows you to stream sound tracks from your iPad, iPod touch and iPod- any of your compatible iOS device. DLNA 1.5 means you can also stream from your PC or Apple computer or Android device. You may use the wired ethernet or wireless connectivity to stream audio from Pandora and others on the web.

There is a big focus on power efficiency as it uses only 45 watts power and has the eco mode where it adjusts the max wattage by the volume level and it shows you the power consumption live and will save you quite a bit on electricity bills on an annual basis. Denon AVR-S700W is a solid workhorse that should be great for most consumers and stay current for many years in the future. It has great build quality, is very simple to set up, a solid performer, loaded with modern features, sound is awesome, Audyssey MultEQ is definitely better than competitors’, works fine with PCs, Macs, Xbox and as a minor flaw the remote control could be better but a very decent purchase overall.
