It offers advanced configuration options and everything is easily accessible with menu button. Denon AVR-S700W is quite clever and remembers where you left off, if you were at Pandora when you turned it off, it will remember.
You won’t find any video apps like Youtube or Netflix set-up on this Denon and the focus is on audio, so you have things like Pandora, SiriusXM, Spotify and thousands of internet radio stations. But it still has great video features, with 6 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output (You can connect several HDMI source devices), compatible with 3D content and game inputs and Blu-Ray support 4K pass-through. The integrated Audyssey MultEQ with a calibration microphone will help you adapt the speakers and the receiver sound to the room you’re in.
Bluetooth lets you stream sound from Bluetooth enabled devices- your tablet, smart phone and portable media player wirelessly and Denon will recognise up to 8 portable devices. You have 5 HDMI inputs at the back and only 3 digital and 2 composite which can’t be changed to HDMI, 2 x Stereo RCA input, 1 x Composite Video output and an HDMI output for connecting high-res video to an external display. The remote control gives you the flexibility or you have the option to use your mobile phone as the remote control with the free app you can download. It has great build quality, is very simple to set up, a solid performer, loaded with modern features, sound is awesome, Audyssey MultEQ is definitely better than competitors’, works fine with PCs, Macs, Xbox and as a minor flaw the remote control could be better but a very decent purchase overall.
