HP Pavilion 27xw 27 inch IPS LED Monitor

HP Pavilion 27xw is a brand new ultra slim dynamic display 27 inch diagonal LED backlit Full HD widescreen monitor with an IPS panel, super 10 million : 1 dynamic contrast ratio and 7 ms response time. Customers overall seem to be very happy as it has a 5 star rating out of 11 customer reviews on Amazon.com as of today with people commenting that it is beyond what they expected (suitable for both work and play purposes) and let’s find out if it will be the right one for you too. And if you prefer a smaller display, your other options are 21.5″ (22xw), 23″ (23xw) and 25″ (25xw) models, they have pretty much the same features except for size as you’ll see on the same Amazon product page.

Silver and white Pavilion 27xw monitor weighs 12.3 lbs and measures 24.5 x 6.5 x 17.9 inches (is only half an inch thick but not particularly lightweight at over 12 pounds), looks very modern and stylish with a very slim profile, almost no bezels (so you have more viewing area) and a nice and functional stand with an open wedge design. You may tilt the screen 2 degrees forward and 25 degrees backward. LED backlighting uses tiny lights and contributes to overall better display performance. FHD is 1920 x 1080 pixel native resolution and equals to superior sharpness, cripsness and clarity as well as vivid and realistic colors as it also has the Technicolor color certification. You have the HP Enhance+ feature that enhances the quality of picture even further by decreasing noise and this resulting in cleaner and sharper display overall.

Low haze enhancement is for less glare but this doesn’t mean that you will experience reduced contrast or less clear image at all and the brightness is at 250 nits. IPS stands for In-Plane Switching and ensures amazing viewing experience with high color fidelity for up to 178 degrees both vertically and horizontally and if you have a few people looking at the display it will be especially handy. It has two HDMI ports and a VGA port that you have pretty easy access to. The dynamic contrast ratio of 10 million : 1 helps with whiter whites, darker blacks and with any colours in between you will get to see finer details. It is a Energy Star certified monitor and it will consume less electricity than normal. Two things we can point out as small cons would be that it doesn’t swivel and is a little on the heavy side at 12.3 pounds but as a desktop monitor it will naturally stay still- it is not a device that is made for portability.

If you considered using your HDTV as a computer monitor, it really does not compare to this HP Pavilion in terms of comfort of use for hours at hand- especially those that edit multimedia will appreciate how good the size and image quality of this monitor is. It is also great for gaming and anything else you do on a daily basis on the computer- your games, photos and videos will look better on it. You don’t have to be an expert to see how good this unit is, you will understand what we mean as you connect your PC to it: Clear image with finer details and vibrant and realistic colors. Just make sure you use the DVD that is included in the box if you want to get improved results with easier adjustments. You will also find the VGA cable and power cord as well as the monitor itself and stand obvously. It is offered with a 12 month limited parts and labor warranty by HP and there will of course be some restrictions as to what is covered and not.
