Dell Inspiron I3543-5752BLK 16-Inch Touch-Screen Laptop

Dell Inspiron i3543-5752BLK is a 16 inch touchscreen laptop with a Broadwell Intel i3 processor, large 1TB hard drive and decent set of specs at a budget price. At first glance it appears to be the right computer to have for daily home entertainment and work purposes as it has quite nice layout at a bargain price. Small flaws that we noticed are not even flaws when you consider the low price point. So the Dell Inspiron i3543-5752BLK comes with the 5th generation dual core Intel i3-5005U processor (3MB L3 cache) at 2.0GHz speed with no turbo function, 4GB DDR3L SDRAM memory that is expandable up to a max of 8GB for even better multitasking, 1TB Serial ATA hard drive at 5400rpm rotating speed and 64-bit Windows 8.1 operating system.

15.6 inch LED-backlit HD touch display with a maximum screen resolution of 1366 x 768 is not as sharp and clear as Full HD and without the large viewing angles of an IPS panel. Graphics card is the integrated Intel HD 5500 that is common to many of the current Broadwell processors that we’ve come across and is good for general multimedia tasks but not really for 3D gaming, as the more demanding games are playable only at lower settings and frame rates per second and you will have more luck with games like World of Warcraft and Minecraft. You have a high definition 1280×720 pixel webcam and acceptable sound quality is provided by MaxxAudio.

Touchscreen is good to have to use with Windows 8 functions and the newer Windows 10 that you will have the right to an upgrade to will also be touch friendly- it is coming out this year in Summer and Autumn with two new releases. Black Dell Inspiron i3543-5752BLK weighs 5.26 pounds and has the dimensions of 15 x 10.50 x 1 inches- average weight and size for a 15.6 inch laptop and Connectivity options include the DVD±RW optical drive, 802.11bgn wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, 10/100Mbps Ethernet with RJ-45 connector, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 1 x USB 3.0 port, an HDMI output to connect to HDTV or external monitor, 3-in-1 Media Card Reader- SD, SDHC or SDXC, a Microphone/headphone jack combo, Security Lock Slot.

Conclusion: Dell Inspiron i3543-5752BLK  is a nice inexpensive 16 inch touch display laptop with a 5th generation i3 processor and a large 1TB hard drive even if at slower 5400rpm speed. 16 inch large touchscreen is nice to have for streaming and watching videos from Youtube Netflix etc. at home or on the road as it is lightweight and slim enough and it is quite easy to set up and use straight out of the box. Being rather portable, a fast and powerful performer with decent specs and features makes it suitable for home entertainment, school and office work and it seems to deliver more than its price suggests. 4GB memory on laptop’s only slot is adequate for general daily use and for casual users but you can also upgrade up to 8GB if you want more multitasking power.

And the spacious 1TB = 1024GB is a lot more than what an average computer customer would need and for speed you need to take out this HDD and install an SSD. Keyboard is non-backlit but is reported to feel nice when you’re typing and has a 10-key numeric pad as well as a functional multitouch touchpad. ULV- ultra low voltage means there will be small sacrifices and will not perform as well as some of the other Haswell Intel i3 processors but you also get longer battery life which is quoted as 6.5 hours but this being a 4-cell lithium ion battery you can expect around 4-5 hours in practice. Overall what you have here is a low price laptop with almost mid range specs. It is an Energy Star certified unit and you get one year parts and labor warranty by Dell.
