Acer Chromebook 314 (CB314-1HT-C7C0) is a hot new release, entry level 14-inch touchscreen laptop with the basic specs and features including an Intel Celeron N4000 processor, Intel UHD 600 graphics, 64GB eMMC flash storage, 4GB LPDDR4 memory, Chrome operating system, Gigabit WiFi and more.

It has an average score of 4.4 out of 5 stars by 4 users at the time of this product review. The second quarter of 2018 release dual core Intel Celeron N4000 processor (4M cache, 2 cores and 2 threads) works at a base speed of 1.10GHz up to 2.6GHz with the Intel Burst. It has a PassMark benchmark score of 1476 for a good level of power for your daily work and play stuff. You can browse the internet with light multitasking, stream videos, play not so demanding Chrome games, do your schoolwork etc.

With a typical TDP- Thermal Design Power of 6 watts, you can expect up to 12.5 hours of battery life from its lithium ion battery. Apart from the local storage space of 64GB eMMC flash storage, you have 100GB of Cloud storage on Google Drive for backing up your files automatically. 4GB of Onboard LPDDR4 is an adequate amount of memory for a decent multitasking power to have a few browsers and apps open at the same time. Chrome OS that this Acer Chromebook runs on was created by Google with a user friendly interface and built-in virus protection. It updates itself automatically in the background, starts up in jus ta few seconds and proves to be fast overall.

You have access to all the Google apps including the Google Docs, Sheets & Slides that you can use your Microsoft Office files on- edit, download and convert. And you have access to many Android apps on Google Play. It weighs just over 3 pounds and measures 12.81 x 9.13 x 0.78 inches- is slim, lightweight, compact and portable. Connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, a USB 3.1 port, a reversible USB 3.1 Type-C Acer Chromebook 314, Intel Celeron N4000, 14-inch HD touch display connector that is the same on both sides, 2 x USB Type-C ports, two USB 3.0 Type A ports and a microSD Card Reader. Please note that the keyboard is not backlit and there is no DVD Optical Drive on this compact Chromebook.

14-inch high definition ComfyView anti-glare LED-backlit display has the 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and supports 10-finger multi-touch. The performance level of the Intel UHD 600 graphics card is similar to the older Intel HD 500 and will let you play all the Chrome games and perform your daily graphics tasks. There is a good quality HD webcam with a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution that supports the SHDR- Super High Dynamic Range, two stereo speakers and a built-in microphone. Screen is regular HD resolution and not as good as Full HD and the sound quality is not the best, but acceptable. Overall the pros outweigh the cons on this machine, and considering the price point we think that it is a good value Chromebook.
