Sparkly silver Acer 14 CB3-431-12K1 is 14-inch Chromebook with a non-touch high definition display (1366 x 768 pixels), an entry level Intel Atom x5 E8000 processor, 32GB eMMC flash storage, 4GB LPDDR3 memory, Intel HD (Braswell) graphics and Chrome operating system.

The quarter 2 of 2016 release quad core Intel Atom x5 E8000 (2M cache) without hyper threading works at speeds between 1.04GHz and 2.0GHz speeds with the turbo boost function and has a Passmark benchmark score of 1568 at the time of this product review for an adequate daily Chromebook performance. The Typical Thermal Design Power- TDP is only 5 watts and will help with the longer battery life. 4GB LPDDR3 memory is good enough for daily multitasking power. 32GB eMMC Flash offers speed but not enough space as most users will be using Cloud storage.

14-inch HD IPS ComfyView LED-backlit non-touch display has the standard 1366 x 768-pixel high definition resolution, 16:9 image aspect ratio and 178-degree viewing angles. Intel HD Graphics (Braswell) for Celeron N3000 Series is built into the Atom x5 processor and is good enough for your day-to-day multimedia needs on Chrome operating system like the internet browsing, video streaming or playing all the Chrome games. The front high definition webcam on the top bezel offers good picture quality with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution for your live video chats  on Skype or taking still snaps.

You can expect around 8 hours of battery life from its lithium polymer battery on average use in practice and this will change over time and daily usage amount. The Cloud-based Chrome operating system has the constant automatic updates without you being aware and the integrated Acer Chromebook 14 CB3-431-12K1 14 Chromebookvirus protection that refresh when you reboot and give you that brand new laptop feel. Chrome OS has a rather intuitive interface and is simple to use. This Chromebook doesn’t come with a built-in DVD Optical Drive or a Memory Card Reader but the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth, an HDMI output, 2 x USB 3.0 ports and Audio port.

English US keyboard is not backlit, has good key travel distance for comfy typing and a large responsive trackpad. One of the customers commented on this being a non-touch screen computer with a similar price tag to touchscreen Chromebook’s.
