Lenovo Ideapad 3 Laptop with Pentium Gold 6405U
2021 model latest release Lenovo Ideapad 3 is an entry level laptop with a premium look and feel, 14-inch HD non-touch display, Pentium Gold 6405U processor, 8GB DDR4 memory, 128GB NVMe Solid State Drive, Windows 10 in S mode and modern connectivity options.
The quarter 2 of 2020 release Intel Pentium Gold 6405U is a dual core ultra low voltage processor that works at a base speed of 2.4GHz without the turbo boost but with hyperthreading (2 cores, 4 threads) and with an adequate performance for your daily tasks. It is claimed to be similar to some of the 8th generation Intel i3 and 7th generation Intel i5 processors with an average CPU PassMark benchmark score of 2370 for an entry level to mid-range power.
8GB DDR4 SDRAM memory at 2400MHz offers decent multitasking at this entry level and lets you have a few browsers and applications simultaneously. You have the 4GB onboard memory and 4GB is upgradeable. 128GB NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive is very fast when you open the files, start and shut down the computer, and everything will feel snappy overall. Windows 10 in S mode can be easily switched to the standard Windows 10 Home through the Start screen and Microsoft Store free of charge. But you can not go back to the S mode from Home mode.
The typical Thermal Design Power- TDP is 15 watts for a battery life of up to 6 hours. There is no optical drive and the connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, an HDMI output, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, a combination headphone audio jack, and a Multi-format SD Media Card Reader. Jet black Lenovo Ideapad 3 weighs 3.3 pounds and measures 12.88 x 9.49 x 0.78 inches- it is compact and portable. 14-inch LED-backlit non-touch high definition display has the 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and TN panel with adequate viewing angles. The built-in Intel UHD 610 graphics card shares the memory with the Pentium Gold and offers similar performance to the Intel HD 610 and 510 and lets you play only the easy, not demanding 
games like the Dota 2, Farming Simulator 17 at low settings and resolutions. It has a 0.3mp webcam with the privacy shutter and the dual array microphones and 2 x 1.5-watt speakers for a decent sound performance.
