HP EliteBook 2560P 12.5 Notebook PC

HP EliteBook 2560P is a 12.5 inch Windows 7 laptop with a second generation Intel i7 processor and with a very sturdy build quality. It is certified and refurbished by a Microsoft authorised refurbisher and looks and works like brand new, includes the original accessories as well as a 12 month warranty to back up its quality and durability. HP Elitebook is offered with the dual core Sandy Bridge Intel i7-2620M processor (4MB cache) at 2.7GHz speed up to 3.4GHz with turbo boost and hyper threading for dual cores to handle four threads at once, 4GB DDR3L SDRAM memory at 1333MHz, 250GB SATA hard drive at 5400rpm rotating speed and 64-bit Windows 7 Professional operating system.

12.5 inch WXGA LED-backlit display with 1280×800 pixel resolution offers clear images and the graphics card Intel HD 3000 is actually quite impressive for its time (2011 release) and can be compared to entry level dedicated NVIDIA graphics cards and you won’t have any problems playing the older games such as Diablo 3, Fifa 13 and World of Tanks at smooth and acceptable frame rates and settings. HP Elitebook weighs 5 pounds and has the measurements of 12.02 x 8.23 x 1.08 inches so it is not really lightweight or slim for its 12.5 inch screen size- has that boxy look and feel but also feels very solid and feels quite premium with aluminium-alloy hinges and titanium-alloy screen latches as well as the rubber bumper around the display- being designed for many stressors including extreme temps, changes in altitude and drops- tested to meet the Mil-Spec standards. If you like using the touchpad rather than a separate mouse then you will like having the left and right click buttons just underneath the space bar and a functional touchpad you can use to control things without moving your hands away from its island style keyboard. It has the DVD Optical drive, 802.11bgn wireless, Bluetooth, Ethernet with RJ-45 connector, VGA, DisplayPort, 3 x USB 2.0 ports (one with eSATA), SD/MMC Media Card Reader, Headphone microphone combo and webcam.

Conclusion: HP EliteBook 2560P is quite a decent notebook for how much it costs but obviously with small flaws. It comes with the older Sandy Bridge i7 with a Thermal Design Power- TDP of 35 watts which was the most powerful dual core processor at the time of its release at the beginning of 2011 and still has the Passmark benchmark score of 3831 (high speed and hyper threading for decent 4-way processing power). There is no USB 3.0 port for quicker data transfers and scrolling on the touchpad is reported to be a little inconsistent. 4GB memory should be fine for most multitasking people need to do and this comes with the older yet more popular Windows 7 rather than Windows 8 or 8.1. Sound quality is good with the SRS premium sound and stereo speakers with built-in dual microphone array. Battery life is reasonably good at around 5 to 6 hours for different tasks- depending on what you do on the laptop and offers a good degree of upgradeability (RAM supported up to 16GB on 2 SODIMMs). The main reason you’re getting such decent system at very low price is pretty obvious, this is a tested, certified and refurbished to look and work like a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher and it is well worth the price for its robust build, powerful performance, Windows 7 OS, good range of connectivity and more. There is a dedicated Elite team with 24/7 technical support service that you can get help from (Elite Premium Support). So it is not to be missed for all that you’re getting at the current price.
