Allied Gaming Javelin Mini Desktop PC with AMD Athlon 3000G Review

Allied Gaming Javelin Mini Desktop PC with AMD Athlon 3000G

Allied Gaming Javelin Mini Desktop PC

Allied Gaming Javelin is a budget entry level mini desktop computer with the modest specs and features including the AMD Athlon 3000G processor, Radeon Vega 3 graphics, A320 motherboard, 240GB Solid State Drive, 8GB DDR4 memory at 2666MHz, ARGB fans, 550W PSU, Gigabit Ethernet, 6 USB ports and WiFi Ready.

The quarter 4 of 2019 release dual core AMD Athlon 3000G processor (2 cores, 4 threads) has the 3.5GHz clock speed and an average CPU Passmark benchmark score of 4434. It is a fairly powerful mid-range CPU that offers solid daily performance overall and makes a decent alternative to an Intel i3 or Ryzen 3 processor. 8GB DDR4 SDRAM at 2666MHz memory with heat spreader offers good multitasking capability. 240GB Solid State Drive is a good amount of local storage space and the speed is much higher (up to 30 times faster) than a regular SATA hard drive.

The integrated Vega 3 graphics card has a video card benchmark score of 901 and will let you play the older game titles fluently, without problems but not the more demanding, new titles. The overall performance level is similar to the GeForce 910M. The typical Thermal Design Power- TDP is 35 watts and the power consumption is low with the smart power-saving functions. And you’ll see it more often on budget slim and lightweight laptops. For a standard game like Fortnite you’ll get 70fps overclocked with 720p competitive settings. But the 1650 Super Graphics Card is recommended by the seller.

This computer is WiFi Ready and included and the connectivity options include the RJ-45 Network Ethernet connector (10/100/1000) 4 x USB 3.0 ports, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, three audio jacks, an HDMI output and 7.1 Channel Audio. It has the smart and modern looking 16 Color ARGB lighting case with dual fans and A320 motherboard with the 550-watt PSU inside. The panel is a half transparent plastic and no glass on the side panel. There are two RAM slots that support DIMM DDR4 at 2933, 2667, 2400, 2133 & 1866MHz, and up to 32G maximum capacity.

You can play games like Escape from Tarkov and GTA 5 at low settings, resolutions and very low FPS. SSD and RAM may be a little low for storing games or playing them comfortably. It is not a very fast machine but there are better options out there if you pay more. So we can’t really say it is a gaming machine, but an entry-level one. As a hot new release mini desktop PC, a pre-built, ready to play machine, it first became available on December 11, 2020. You get what you pay for and works well for what it is designed for which is entry level gaming and you can’t really have high expectations. Allied Gaming Javelin was assembled in the US and comes with a year of labor and parts warranty along with a free lifetime technical support in the US. Windows 10 Home is installed and the activation key is not included.
