Acer Aspire V3-572P-326T Signature Edition is a reliable and modern 15.6 inch touchscreen laptop as part of the V 15 series with a Broadwell Intel i3 processor that uses 30 percent less energy and enabling up to 7 hour battery life for doing both your daily work and entertainment. Signature Edition simply refers to ’No bloatware, junkware or trialware that you need to uninstall for more speed and performance’. It has a touch display that is regular HD, not Full HD and not with IPS panel but with Direct Bonding to help with screen efficiency. Acer Aspire V3 comes with the fifth generation dual core Intel i3-5005U at 2.00 Ghz without turbo boost but with hyper threading for smart 4-way processing, 6GB DDR3L SDRAM memory at 1600 MHz to handle decent amount of multitasking, 1TB HDD SATA hard drive at 5400rpm plus Cloud based SkyDrive and Windows 8.1 operating system with the familiar Start screen and button options (Windows 10 is out at the end of July and you can get your free upgrade as a current Win 8 user).

15.6 in HD LED-backlit touchscreen display with 10-finger multi-touch support with Direct Bonding technology for thinner and lighter display, better viewing angles, easier reading when outdoors and 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.. Graphics card is the Intel HD Graphics 5500 with shared memory to play games like Battlefield 4 at lower settings and World of Warcraft and similar at high settings with no problems. Stereo speakers with Dolby Home Theater offer decent room-filling surround sound experience and 1MP Acer Crystal Eye HD webcam is a nice one for chatthing live on Skype or taking still shots. Textured metallic finish with aluminium cover silver Aspire V3 weighs 5 pounds and measures 15 x 1.2 x 10 inches- thinner and lighter than previous generation Aspire V’s), looks pretty sharp and has a premium feel- especially for the price. Conclusion: At first sight the Acer Aspire V3-572P-326T looks nice and offers enough performance to handle both the daily and more demanding tasks and has a low price tag but cheap doesn’t mean nasty at all in this case. The 5th generation Intel i3-5005U has a Passmark score of a little over 3000 as a high mid-range CPU with the 6GB memory and appears to be the right choice at this price level. 6GB memory is 2GB + 4GB on two memory slots and the system supports up to 16GB which means you can put 2 x 8GB on two slots. 1TB is a lot of space of storage but not as fast a 7200rpm HDD and definitely nowhere near as fast as an SSD so you can of course replace it with an SSD but you’ll miss out on storage space.

It is great that there is no pre-installed third party junkware you may or may not need or want as most new computers come with loads that can affect the performance and even battery life reducing it by up to half an hour, start up in twice the time and shut down slower too. Another advantage of this Signature Edition laptop is the antivirus program called Windows Defender that doesn’t expire and includes free updates. Keyboard is backlit, has a 1.6mm keyboard travel, a 10-key numeric pad for faster data entry and a touchpad towards the left underneath the space bar. You can expect the battery life to be around 5 to 6 hours on average with normal tasks rather than the 7 hours advertised but if brightness turned down and working on the least power demanding tasks then you should get the max 7 hours. Overall this Acer Aspire V 15 is a good general use computer that is fast and easy to use and you’re getting an impressive deal for the money: Signature edition with no junkware, Touch display, backlit keyboard, 5th generation Intel i3, 6GB memory, 1TB storage, long battery life, DVD drive and all the connectivity options anyone may need for daily use and more.
