TCL 32B2800 is an early 2014 release 32 inch HD full array LED-backlit TV with 720p resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and 16:9 image aspect ratio TV without ’Smart’ features. For those of you that do not know the TCL brand, TCL is a Chinese company that claim to be third largest TV manufacturer globally, with over 3 decades of history of mainly making the components for other better known TV brands. Judging by customer reviews TCL 32B2800 is a great value TV, as long as you are not looking for those extra bells and whistles..

But a TV with decent image quality, good fast motion action and sports performance thanks to the 60Hz refresh rate that is doing its job (reduced motion blur and distortion during fast moving action and sports) and adequate sound but its main selling point is its low price despite being a decent quality no hassle 32 inch television. But it seems to be easy on the eyes with its slim profile and glass stand that helps it stand out from the crowd- unlike the black plastic common to even more expensive brands and it does help it look like a premium product. It weighs 13.6 pounds and measures 28.9 x 17 x 3.2 inches without stand and 28.9 x 18.9 x 6.3 inches with stand. Connectivity options include 2 x HDMI, 1 x MHL to share content from your mobile device- tablet or smart phone, 1 x USB port for connecting a cable box or a games console (but it doesn’t allow the viewing of videos from USB sticks, just the JPEG pictures and music), a Component and a Composite AV port, has a standard remote control with batteries provided and is mountable on a wall with VESA wall mount.
As soon as you start using the TV, you notice the image being clear, bright and sharp with good colour saturation and vibrant colours- whiter whites and darker blacks thanks to the 3.5 million:1 dynamic contrast ratio. At this price range you really can’t expect to have the best picture quality but sure is better than what you get from TV’s at similar price range. The TCL 32B2800 is a low cost decent image quality- good value TV that is simple to set-up and use with good connectivity but without any extras or super nice image or sound (sound quality is just OK and you need a sound bar for better sound quality via the red/white audio inputs- no optical audio or headphone jack on thisTV)- it is a good looking budget no frills TV that would be suitable as a second TV at your home to put in your bedroom or to use for gaming etc. Although it doesn’t have the Smart TV features, you can just connect streaming devices via HDMI and make it just like a Smart TV. It is is very easy to set-up and navigate through the remote control that doesn’t have any of the complicated settings. It is offered with a 12 month warranty by the manufacturer- TCL.
