Swann CONVW-EZYVIEW is a budget priced 4 channel Full HD 1080p wireless home security system that includes two cameras. You will connect the NVR and the cameras wirelessly through your network very quickly. The aluminum cameras can be used both indoors and outdoors and expect great quality image. They have the integrated microphones and you’ll hear the sound up to 16ft distance. You can see things clearly in the dark up to 65 feet as the cameras have the IR cut filters and lenses offer more detail than normal.
It works well and gives you everything you may need and more from a low-cost home security system. Cameras can be used between the temperatures of -4 and 122 degrees Fahrenheit. You can set it to start recording when motion is detected (motion triggered recording) and it will save from four channels on its pre-installed 1TB storage more than 40 days in theory. You can use the SwannView Link app to see what’s going on live or recorded video clearly on your mobile device- tablet or smartphone. For a stronger connection, you can use the Ethernet cable to connect the DVR to your wireless router (although no wires needed) and the HDMI cable to connect it to the monitor and will link to the two cameras straight away.
Picture quality is quite good, much better during the day with 1080p FHD resolution with up to 15 fps and better than OK at night- as good as any night vision cameras. It is easy to set up and use overall without needing to play too much with the settings. Please remember to tighten the antenna on the camera as this will affect how good your connection to the system will be. You can use the mouse to point out the motion detection parts or play with the settings. You need to know where to put the cameras to get the best outcome, as the field of view is limited to 52 degrees. If the connection is not great between the DVR and the cameras, just make sure they are not far from each other and the cameras are not blocked.
Customer support is good and you will usually get help from Swann help desk within a few minutes. It is a very good quality system at a reasonable price. The cameras look sleek and stylish and they’re not obtrusive and will work nicely both indoors and outdoors. There will not be any messy cables in your home with everything connected wirelessly but the cameras will still need to be connected to the mains power with the cables and adaptor. The system supports up to 4 cameras so you can add two more cameras to the existing two.
