Samsung UN50H6203 is an edge-lit LED backlit Full HD Smart TV with a semi-matte finish screen LCD panel, decent picture quality- good blacks, good light flow-through and bright backlight, calibration for a more natural looking picture, 16:9 aspect ratio, an easy to use menu and remote control. It is currently offered at a great price on Amazon.com so you’re getting great value for money. Black square stand design with thin matte black bezel (frame surrounding the display) of 0.7 inch wide Samsung UN50H6203 weighs 34.4 pounds without stand (40.1 lbs with stand) and has the measurements of 44.8 x 26.5 x 3.7 inches without stand (44.8 x 28.5 x 9 inches with stand).
It offers strong picture overall but colours can look a little over-saturated. This is a great TV for fast motion action and sports as it has a 120Hz refresh rate (240 Clear Motion Rate) for less motion blur. Light-flow through is one of this TV’s strengths and you’ll notice the difference with high definition content. The layout and organisation of Internet TV options of Samsung is pretty good- being a smart TV at a budget price and comes with good smart TV options but the apps load a little slow and set-up can take a bit of time. It comes with an internet browser if you fancy using one but it is a 5-way controller search and not particularly fast, wireless is also simple to set-up and usable so you can stream music and videos without wirelessly.
It has 2 x 10W speakers, DTS Premium Sound 5.1 surround sound, clear dialogues, great bass response and an interesting feature called Smart Sound for consistent volumes so when you get those loud commercials in-between whatever you’re watching- movies, shows, the sound output will stay constant. You can of course use a home theatre system, a sound receiver or a soundbar. It is an Energy Star 6.0 rated TV with also the Eco Sensor feature is good for saving on power bills- it adjusts the image according to how much light there is in the room. On the other hand it comes with 2 HDMI inputs and 2 USB inputs, somewhat slow running smart TV functions, not the best side viewing angle quality along with a bit of glare from the light in the room, and while you’re reducing the contrast and brightness keeping sufficient colour may require a bit of an effort.
The Samsung LED TV was released in May 2014 and comes with modern features overall but the stand has a little old design but we’re sure it is something you can live with, this being a lower cost TV. Apart from the HDMI and USB inputs, you have a Composite, a Component, an Optical Audio Out, and Ethernet port, an RF In and an IR Out and is a VESA 400 X 400 wall mounting compatible TV. It has the screen mirroring function to transmit all kinds of multimedia from your smart phone or tablet onto the large screen wirelessly quite good overall picture quality- is a Full HD so you have twice as high as the regular high definition TVs, wide colour enhancer for better and enriched colours with a larger variety of colours, does not offer the best Smart TV delivery but a Smart Hub with five panels to navigate through different content and you can use apps like Amazon Plus, Hulu, Netflix etc., game mode setting to decrease input lag from a mouse or a game controller but still is one of the best value televisions you can get at the current price level on Amazon.
