27″ Samsung Curved LED-lit Monitor via Amazon
Glossy white Samsung S27E591C is the new 27 inch curved LED-backlit Full High Definition monitor (S27D590C is the black color model) with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution 16:9 cinematic aspect ratio, 3000:1 static contrast ratio- decent image quality, power efficiency, improved entertainment experience and gaming options along with very comfy viewing. It is compatible with both Windows and Apple machines and is very easy to set-up.
Samsung S27E591C weighs 12.3 lbs and measures 24.5 x 7.2 x 14.4 inches, has a very sleek design, looks nice with the first class curved ergonomic design, high glossy white finish and the adjustable removable curved T-shape white base offering viewing flexibility (unit is also wall mountable). According to Samsung curved design inspired by the curve in human eye is apparently best in class and will help you experience fun and comfortable immersive viewing when you’re working on your tasks, watching YouTube videos or playing games. You’ll view realistic picture, vibrant colors (supports up to 16.7 million colors), whiter whites and deeper blacks with the 3000:1 static contrast ratio- Mega Dynamic Contrast Ratio (Mega DCR) technology and a brightness of 300 cd/m2- this is quite a bright monitor. Viewing angles are great both vertically and horizontally at up to 178 degrees, meaning the image quality will not be distorted at any angle and you’ll have the same picture quality at multiple positions.
You’ll find two channel 5 watt stereo speakers integrated into the curve and offer reasonable sound for a curved monitor at this price level when you’re doing whatever on the computer, including playing games. Among a total of six pre-set viewing modes, there is actually a Game Mode that you can select by just pressing a button and everything will be adjusted automatically: Improved colors, optimal contrast and you already have the super fast video response (4 ms response time and 60 Hz refresh rate for less motion blur, ghosting and judder and smooth images during fast-moving scenes) and superior sound. It has the HDMI (monitor includes an HDMI cable), VGA and DisplayPort inputs to connect to both analog and digital sources including Blu-ray players and game consoles and the Digital Optical Audio output to connect to external speakers or other sound source (no DVI or USB ports). It offers the multiple monitor support so if you have the right graphics card you can connect two to three external monitors at the same time.
Samsung Curved Monitor is very easy to install and run but the power button and all the inputs are at the rear so this may be hard for some people. Curve may appear unusual at first as it is quite a noticeable one but after a little while you’ll get used to it and will be hard to work with regular screens. Ports and connectivity are a little limited, screen is very bright with a lot of light, doesn’t offer much for tuning options so you won’t be able do any tuning on gamma or color temperature and you’ll need to do with options in the menu, sound quality is OK with the 5 watt speakers, but it is nice to have the joystick at the right rear of the monitor so all you do is press the button, select and navigate. If you are on a budget, overall it is a good quality monitor with all right picture and greatly reduced blur for gaming purposes (this is the main area that we recommend this monitor and if you will be putting two or three monitors side by side you’re going to get something great), large viewing angles with the vertical alignment technology similar to IPS panel and innovative and user friendly features. You would normally think a curved screen should have 4K resolution but remember the price this monitor is offered at is very low in comparison.
