Petnet SmartFeeder SF10B allows you to feed your pet remotely from any smart phone, tablet or notebook and to manage the times you feed your pets, the right ingredients, serving sizes and to also have direct pet food delivery to your door as it monitors your current pet food supply in your home and will take action and order when you’re low on pet food. It has access to a very large pet food database, comes with sensors and learning software and understand your pet’s nutritional needs very well. You get notifications on your smart devices or laptop, you can manage the serving sizes, schedule the feeing time or start it remotely and the food delivery is possible just on iOS operating system (iOS 8 or later) currently and for phone models iPhone 5 and up but they are also working on an Android app which should be ready soon. 4.7 / 5 stars is what Petnet SmartFeeder scores out of 28 customers’ ratings at the time of this review and the reviews are mostly positive.
Petnet SmartFeeder can have a maximum of 5 to 7 pounds of food at one time (in the hopper that can hold a whole bag of food) and for kibble it will function better with round shaped kibble and in 1/8 to 5/8 inches and you may use your own pet food as long as it is dry and kibble size and it works quietly and smoothly too without disturbing you or your pet. It is made in China, weighs 11.2 pounds and measures 24.6 x 11.9 x 11 inches and looks good in glossy black with a modern design and comes with a stainless steel bowl the hopper can be washed in the dishwasher and a rechargeable backup battery. Sizes of servings vary from 1/16 cups to 1.5 cups. It has a built-in 2.4GHz wireless connection and in the box you will find the Petnet SmartFeeder, Bowl, Food Hopper, User Manual, Lid and Band, Stainless Steel Bowl Insert, Micro USB 8 feet charging cable and User’s Guide. It will help you make sure your pet is fed no matter how far you are from home anywhere in the world (remotely via your portable smart device). You can choose to get notifications about the battery life, feedings and other info. This is called the Smart Feeder because it will measure the serving sizes based on your pet’s weight, how active it is and its breed and age.
You can set the time yourself and the smart feeding unit will offer enough food portion to your pet and there will not be any overfeeding. It will even mix and match for your pet’s needs and come up with the right recipe so that it is fed properly. It is very intuitive and easy to use and is designed to tackle the problems you may face when feeding your pet on a daily basis: Delivering the right amount precisely at the exact time. Even the strong dogs can not knock it off its place as it has to be forced and unclipped on both sides for that to happen. It is designed for a single pet’s use and if you have more than one pet then you will have one for each but then one of them may eat more than others and it is hard to accommodate for that (no mechanism to recognise the pet and lock the unit when others approach it). This is a great, easy to set up, accurate, reliable, durable- well built with high quality materials, well functioning and user friendly product but according to one of the customers with a very large Bulldog, the bowl is a little small for it and they claim that some large dogs can have a harder time to eat from it (looks quite large on the picture) and if you have two pets and two devices you can’t control it from one smart phone app but they are working on changing that too.
