Onkyo HT-S3700 5.1-Channel Home Theater System

Onkyo HT-S3700 is a modern 5.1 channel 110 watt per channel home theater receiver and speaker AV system with surround sound- a great entertainment system with Bluetooth, Dolby TrueHD and 4K video support. It comes with a receiver to add to the sound quality of your videos, songs and games, an 8 inch down firing subwoofer and powerful full-range bass reflex speakers. It has 6 HDMI 2.0 inputs and 1 output with 4K/60Hz UHD compatibility to let you connect a variety of components or devices to it. Bluetooth is the 2.1 version and is EDR capable so that you can stream content from other Bluetooth enabled units (Bluetooth does add value to this system- easy wireless connection to compatible devices- no wires and no mess) and via the USB port you’ll be able to playback from USB devices.

Onkyo is a globally recognised sound system brand and the Onkyo HT-S3700 is a fairly low cost but good quality home theater system with 6 pieces of speakers that would be ideal for those that are new to these systems or for anyone on the market for a budget and good value system, more for smaller or secondary area in your house you want to use a home theater system in rather than a very large living room, then you may want to get the network enabled HT-S5700 model. A High Current Power Supply- H.C.P.S transformer, discrete output transistors and big capacitor along with the high current WRAT system that manages the speaker drivers make up the centre of this system like any other Onkyo and create amazing sound with great clarity- play Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio formats with High Resolution Audio Processing.

For how much it costs it is a powerful system with a great range of connectivity and is capable of producing clean, dynamic and powerful sound. It is simple to use with the easy to manage menus and different listening modes you can select for different content. You may choose to connect tablet, smart phone or computer through the analog or digital sound inputs and the USB port at the back can accept a good range of audio including WMA, MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV up to 192kHz/24-bit resolution. It has the Zone 2 Line-Out that allows multi-room sound so you can use the same A/V receiver and listen to great quality music in other parts of your house by connecting a couple of speakers and a power amplifier. It comes with a 2 year limited warranty for parts and labor to back up the product quality- company stands behind their products.

As a con, the remote control seems to be a little more complicated than it should be and may take some time to get the hang of it and by perhaps changing the speaker cable to good quality full copper wires you will experience even better sound- the speaker cable Onkyo comes with are reported to be not so great. Other than that, you will probably not be disappointed with the sound- very good quality indeed for the price of the unit and the way it is compatible with a good range of devices and audio codes is nice. We also like that it is easy to set-up and how you can change the name of inputs displayed on screen to anything you like. It has quite a few useful features like 4K upscaling, connectivity options- 6+1 HDMI ports, USB, built-in Bluetooth and the most important thing for any home theatre system- sound quality is really good. It is one of the best systems you can get at this price level, confirmed by an average of 4.6 out of 5 stars (voted by 36 reviewers) on Amazon.com on the day of this review.
