Asus X553SA-BHCLN10 15.6 inch Celeron 4GB 500GB

Black Asus X Series X553SA-BHCLN10 is a brand new (end of November 2015 release on Amazon) budget all-round 15.6 Inch laptop with a dual core Intel Celeron N3050 processor (2MB Cache) at 1.6 to 2.16GHz with turbo boost but without the hyper threading feature so you have two cores and two threads, 4GB DDR3L SDRAM at 1600MHz to work on different apps and programs simultaneously, 500GB SATA HDD storage at 5400rpm spindle speed as more than adequate space for your media and regular files and Windows 10 operating system. Celeron N3050 CPU (with a Passmark benchmark score of around 750) plus 4GB memory combo is suitable for simple daily work and entertainment as long as you will not be playing very demanding 3D games or editing complex multimedia. 15.6 inch Auto HD LCD with a 1366×768 pixel native resolution offers reasonable image quality but is obviously not as sharp and clear as some of the high end Full HD models. Intel HD integrated graphics (Braswell) is good for browsing multimedia rich web pages, playing HD movies and older game titles. Webcam is a standard integrated 0.3MP VGA resolution (not HD) webcam with microphone one for basic Skype chatting.

Asus X553SA-BHCLN10 15.6 inch Celeron N3050

Ergonomic and stylish, sleek and modern concentric circle finish spin texture Asus X553SA weighs 4.85 pounds and measures 14.96 x 10.16 x 1 inches. It has a non-backlit keyboard with 10-key numpad and a trackpad that supports multiple gestures and your palms will stay cool and comfortable thanks to the IceCool design. Connectivity options include the Super-Multi DVD Drive, Media Card Reader that supports SD and SDHC formats, 802.11bgn wireless, Bluetooth V4.0, Ethernet LAN with RJ-45 connector, a USB 3.0 port for transfer data up to ten times faster, a USB 2.0 port, Microphone and Headphone Audio Jack combo, HDMI output and VGA output. SonicMaster, stereo speakers and Asus Splendid offer great loud and clear sound, especially for a laptop at this low price point. Windows 10 starts up faster than the previous Windows versions and with the Instant On it will wake up from sleep mode in just a couple of seconds. 4GB memory is quite all right at this level and can be expanded up to 8GB for better multitasking. TDP- Thermal Design Power is only 6 watts so the 2-cell 30 WHr prismatic lithium ion battery should go for several hours depending on how and what you use it for. Screen is not Full HD and no IPS panel and really can’t be at such low price, with everything else you’re getting. This seems like a winner if you’re on a low budget or want a second backup type computer.
