Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor with 2 Cameras MBP43-2

Motorola MPB43-2 is a modern remote wireless digital baby monitor with a 3.5 inch diagonal full color LCD display, two cameras with zoom, tilt and pan functions, ability to pair up to four cameras, multiple cam viewing option, two-way communication and the high-sensitivity microphone (you can speak to, comfort and hear your baby), infrared night vision to see him/her in low light or even in the dark. It works on 2.4GHz FHSS WiFi that offers secure signals with as much as 590 feet range. In the box you’ll find the parent monitor unit and two cameras with audio/video support as well as power adapters for each one of them, a rechargeable battery pack for the monitor, User’s Manual and Quick Start Guide. MPB43B-2 is the same camera in black color.

Motorola MPB43-2 weighs 2.7 lbs- is lightweight and has the measurements of 9.9 x 8.8 x 4.4 inches. It has a mounting bracket so it can be installed on a wall but you probably wouldn’t want it directly over the crib. It offers a simple to use functionality giving you complete peace of mind while in other rooms of your home and the 3.5” LCD display provides clear viewing. Other useful features include LED sound level indicator to display up to 6 levels of baby’s sound, volume control, 5 lullabies, low battery alert, room temperature display, out of range alert and secure digital signal so that others can’t eavesdrop. As you can connect a total of 4 cameras to the same unit you can keep an eye on your whole family or any rooms in your house. It doesn’t show two or all cameras simultaneously on screen but you toggle between them easily by pressing a button or by choosing the automatic cycling: Scan mode so it moves between the cameras every 10-12 seconds or so.

You’ll get nice picture quality through the cameras and clear screen in day time or dark- no blurring, and hear decent sound through the built-in speakers and microphones (you won’t really hear any humming or black noise when it is silent in the room), is easy to set up in just a couple of minutes and use and to switch between cameras, is easy to zoom and you won’t hear any noise while toggling between cameras. Cameras are not wireless though so be careful with the cords in or very close to the crib so as not to cause accidents but with the pan, tilt and zoom functions they are easy to adjust to the size and shape of the rooms and if your baby moves around a lot you can find him/her easily, battery life is OK but will probably need to be plugged in overnight, buttons on the main unit are not backlit and the unit offers decent range but may go out of range if your house is big and you step out. Having said that it is a great digital video baby monitor that is well worth its price tag: Simple operation, user friendly, reliable and durable, nice set of features, better than average video quality, decent sound, good range and clear signal.
