LG 1080p 600hZ Plasma TV

Black LG Electronics 50PB6650 is a 50-Inch (49.9 inch diagonal) Full HD plasma smart TV with 1080p resolution, Triple XD Engine and a refresh rate of 600Hz Max Sub Field Driving to make every single frame of your videos sharp and clear. Picture quality is spectacular for a TV at this price level, with vibrant colours and deeper blacks also thanks to the nature of Plasma TVs in general, great contrast and saturation, brilliant solid image.

Being Full HD, it offers superior picture quality with twice the pixel resolution of regular high definition televisions. Refresh rate of 600Hz is awesome especially for fast-moving video- action and sports, makes the image brighter and clearer by Max Sub Field Driving which means transmitting accurate electric pulses to individual pixels in the screen and you will not experience any stuttering, ghosting or blurring even at super high speed. For audio, you have the 2 channel driven speakers with 20W output power and Virtual surround Plus. It has 8 picture modes, 6 Aspect ratio modes and 7 sound modes.

LG Plasma TV gives you access to great content from Youtube, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video which you need internet connection for and lets you personalise the LG panel placing your most favourite applications so you don’t have to navigate a lot to find what you’re searching for. It comes with integrated wireless connection if you have the subscription to a wifi broadband network so you can use your TV to connect to the internet easily and wirelessly. It has 3 HDMI ports, 3 USB ports, 1 Digital Audio Out, 1 Composite and 1 Component, weighs 54.8 pounds and has the measurements of 46.1 x 27.6 x 2.2 inches without stand- so it is quite heavy and on the large side so it is kind of protected from burglary if you’re concerned but it has a rather slim profile at 2.2 inches.

lg plasma tv 50pb6650LG 50-inch Plasma TV seems to be quite easy to set-up (probably less than an hour including the stand bit) as the instructions help you do everything including the image and sound settings, wireless connection and satellite or cable. You will find a few prearranged modes but gives you the opportunity to easily customise / personalise everything. You can comfortably use it for gaming too with its special game mode settings. And just use an MHL cable to connect your mobile appliance- iOS or Android tablets and phones to your plasma screen and view everything larger and use television’s functional motion controlled magic remote to manage the content.

The screen is a little glossy and glare can be a bit of a problem like other plasma screens if the TV is facing the light or window in the room and no major reflection is reported by customers and even if the room is bright, TV screen is very bright too. Viewing from different angles doesn’t seem to affect the image quality of the LG Plasma. One of the customers pointed out the number of ports which can be limiting if you’re connecting from many external devices. It is up to you to use the power saving function if you want to save on energy bills or turn it off to get better image quality as it can be a little dark in daylight. Despite certain small limitations or negatives, the price is great, has decent Smart TV features if you’re into that and the picture quality is very good- a great quality plasma TV without the unnecessary bells and whistles. You often get very fast delivery with Amazon.com and it comes with a limited 12 month warranty of parts and labor by the manufacturer.
