LG 49UB8200 4K UHD Smart LED TV

LG Electronics 49UB8200 is a 49 inch IPS 4K panel UHD LED TV with a 120Hz refresh rate, Ultra Clarity Index- UCI of 1080, smart functionality, LG’s online hub and content as it is a WiFi ready TV and amazing picture quality. Item reviewed on this page is the LG 4K television and the hook-up bundle of 2 x 6ft length High Speed 3D Ready 1080p HDMI cable, 3 Outlet Surge protector with 2 USB ports, Cleaning kit and Micro fiber cleaning cloth. It is suitable for use in the main living rooms due to its 49 inch screen and superior design.

LG 49UB8200 measures 43 x 26.9 x 9.8 inches and is rather easy on the eyes with its unique simplistic yet classy and elegant design with an almost edge to edge frame and the dual pronged feet that are small in comparison with the 49 inch screen, adding to the overall great look. It is very easy to set-up and use with such user-friendly features common to all LG brand TV’s and more- you will be ready to go within a few minutes of opening its box, using the provided remote control and onscreen menu and you will easily connect to the wireless. There is still not a lot out there in terms of 4K content which is the future of high-end video with 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution but is becoming more and more available and it is definitely a whole new experience- those of you that have seen it before will agree with us. Picture quality is really impressive- rich, realistic, sharp, colourful, vibrant, darker blacks and whiter whites with the best viewing angles of IPS 4K panel with the HEVC- High Efficiency Video Coding compression format.

With some of the greatest smart TV features on the market, LG’s online content and easy to navigate hub allows you to have access to your Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts through the built-in browser and to view the greatest quality 4K content on several streaming services on the internet- Netflix and others with free access or small subscription fees- you get to see everything with only a press of a button. It seems to have it all, with a beautiful modern design, excellent image quality with 8.3 million pixels, vibrant colours and sharper details, solid build quality, greatly reduced motion blur when watching fast moving action stuff (UCI is used is LG UHD TV’s and a value of 1080 represents a great value for the clearest picture quality during action movies and sports), decent internet connection along with easy wireless set-up and a good range of streaming media and online content through the hub and good sound through built-in speakers (but always better with a sound bar)- all at a rather affordable price.

LG 49UB8200 4K UHD Smart LED TVLG 49UB8200 has 2 x HDMI and 1 x USB ports and the usual connectivity options and would be sufficient for the majority of customers. Another large TV manufacturer Samsung has 4K televisions but they don’t have the IPS panel that is common to most modern day LG TV’s. IPS stands for In-Plane Switching and it simply offers much wider viewing angles vertically and horizontally- better quality TV panel means better quality picture. As minor cons, remote control is not perfect- it would be better if backlit and the UpArrow key a little too close to the SmartTV button- more space would be better. Sure there is still not a lot of 4K video content yet but with the Tru-4K HD Engine you experience the picture upscaling via a multiple step analysis to improve whatever you’re watching to almost 4K Ultra HD quality. To understand how 4K image looks you need to imagine a picture four times better than that of 1080p Full HD. This is not a 3D TV and if you don’t care about 3D, this is an awesome value TV to purchase and is hard to beat for the money.
