Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Gen 2 (20YU004HUS) is a high-end, very durable workstation laptop with a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display, IR camera, very powerful Intel i9-11950H vPro processor, NVIDIA RTX A2000 GDDR6 graphics card, 2TB NVMe SSD, 64GB DDR4 SDRAM memory, Windows 10 Professional operating system, fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard and great connectivity.
The 9th generation octa-core Intel i9-11950H vPro processor (24M cache, 16 threads with the hyperthreading) has a base speed of 2.6GHz that moves up to 5.0GHz with the turbo boost function as required by the demanding tasks. It has an average CPU Passmark benchmark score of a very impressive 22679 at the moment and you shall have no problems with whatever you want to do on this computer. The typical TDP- Thermal Design Power is 45 watts but comes with the 94Wh battery and offers an average battery life of 9 hours at the lower light settings.
64 GB SO-DIMM DDR4 at 3200MHz Non-ECC is a very generous amount of memory for the extreme multitasking power and you will have no problems with having several programs, apps and browser tabs open simultaneously. The 2TB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe is very large storage space for saving all your regular and multimedia files locally and is very fast when opening your files and starting the system. There are 4 x DDR4 SODIMM RAM slots that are dual channel capable and the maximum amount of memory supported is 128GB DDR4 at 3200MHz. And the storage support up to three drives is available- 3x M.2 SSD M.2 2280 SSD for up to 2TB each for a total of up to 6TB.
15.6-inch Full HD non-touch anti-glare LED-backlit Dolb Vision display has the 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, an impressive 533 nits of brightness, 100% sRGB coverage, accurate colors and IPS panel with up to 178-degree viewing angles vertically and horizontally. NVIDIA RTX A2000 graphics card has the 4GB GDDR6 dedicated memory and an
average G3D benchmark score of 10184. You can expect an impressive overall gaming and multimedia performance, you can edit photos and videos and play the latest demanding games at mostly high settings and resolutions.
Sound quality is decent with the HD Audio, ALC3306 codec and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers. It has a 720p + IR webcam with the privacy shutter and 2x array microphones for your live conference calls or casual chats with friends and family. Black Lenovo ThinkPad P15 Workstation weighs 6.32 pounds and measures 14.24W x 9.67D x (0.96-1.24)H inches, so it is quite thick and heavy but very solid and durable. There is no DVD Optical DVD Drive and the connectivity options are SD Card Reader, 2x Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI output, a headphone combo jack, optional IR face recognition and fingerprint reader.
Lenovo ThinkPad P15 has a backlit spill-resistant English keyboard with a numeric pad on the side and large responsive touchpad. The materials used on the case is GFRP 50% (PA + GF 50%) at the bottom and GFRP 50% (PPS695 + GF 50%) at the top. It has the very good thermals and cooling performance and quiet operation overall. And it has a 170-watt slim tip 3-pin power adapter. Please note that this laptop’s box was opened for upgrading both the SSD storage and RAM and these upgrades have not affected the Lenovo warranty.
