Lenovo - IdeaPad 100s 11.6 inch Laptop

Red Lenovo – IdeaPad 100s 80R2001FUS is a very low priced and compact, sleek and attractive 11.6 inch Windows laptop with a basic quad core Intel Atom “Bay Trail”  Z3735F processor (2MB cache) at 1.33-1.83GHz with turbo boost, small but adequate 2GB DDR3L SDRAM memory for basic use (you can’t have too many browsers and apps running at once), 32GB eMMC flash storage and the late 2015 release Windows 10 OS that is a lot more preferred by customers to the previous Windows 8 with user friendly new functions. This is the kind of computer to have if you will spend most of your time on the internet, stream movies, view photos, listen to songs or work on Word or spreadsheets- perform simple home and office tasks as it has an entry level Atom CPU and only 2GB memory, so don’t expect to run or do very heavy multitasking of complex software. 11.6 inch LED backlit matte non-touch display has the 1366×768 pixel resolution (you just can’t have a Full HD display with IPS panel at this price level and the screen viewing angles are a little narrow with the TN panel) and vibrant enough colours but 200 nits screen brightness and includes stereo speakers. The Intel HD integrated graphics (Bay Trail) can handle basic daily multimedia tasks and light games and with integrated webcam you can do casual chats on Skype with friends and family.

Lenovo - IdeaPad 100s 11.6 inch Netbook

It has no DVD drive (partly due to size restrictions as this is a compact and slim budget laptop), no USB 3.0 port, no Ethernet for wired internet but comes with 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, a micro SD card slot, an HDMI port to connect to an external monitor or your HDTV, a headphone and microphone combo jack. Matte finish red Lenovo IdeaPad 100s with black interior has a modern design, weighs only 2.2 pounds with 7.95 x 11.5 x 0.69 inch dimensions (is less than 0.7 inch thick). The item we’re reviewing is red but it is also offered in blue, silver and white colours. 32GB is not a lot of storage for a Windows computer but firstly you have the speed advantage of flash drive (much faster boot ups and overall performance than mechanical SATA hard drives), secondly you can easily expand the storage through the integrated microSD card and thirdly you should probably be taking advantage of Cloud storage that gives you the flexibility to have access to your files wherever and whenever. At this low price level chassis is obviously solid plastic and not aluminium and the typical Lenovo style keyboard is not backlit but lets you type accurately, has a single piece trackpad without different gestures like two finger scrolling and without the separate left and right clicks just below the space bar. Battery life from its 2-cell 31.9 Whr is impressive for such a budget machine at up to 8 hours on average use and is a well built and solid, compact and very slim netbook with a decent price- is a lot more powerful than traditional netbooks of a decade ago that were only capable of performing the most basic tasks but lacks the bells and whistles of an expensive computer. So unless you are considering investing more in a netbook or notebook, this would make a great second computer or something to take on your travels.
