17.3 inch Lenovo G70-80 80FF00LCUS Notebook via Amazon
Lenovo G70-80 80FF00LCUS is a decent 17.3 inch laptop with a HD+ resolution, a dual core Intel i3-5020U accelerated processor (3MB cache) at fixed 2.2GHz speed without the turbo function but with hyper threading for four threads in parallel, 4GB DDR3L SDRAM memory at 1600MHz for simple yet smooth multitasking that is more than adequate for daily stuff so you can run several apps and browsers at the same time, 1TB Serial ATA hard drive as ample storage at regular 5400rpm spindle speed to save many songs, photos and videos and Windows 10 Home operating system. Intel i3-5020U was released in the first quarter of 2015, has a TDP- Thermal Design Power of 15 watts and a Passmark benchmark score of around 3200 as a high mid-range processor that can handle both the basic and more complex office and multimedia tasks and multitasking.
Black Lenovo G70-80has a modern design- not amazing but better than what the price point may suggest, weighs 5.5 pounds and is 1.1 inch thin (measurements of 16.5 x 11.1 x 1.1 inches) which is good for a 17 inch laptop with a DVD Optical Drive, so you get the big screen with some portability but this is still more of a desktop replacement than something you can take wherever you go. Other connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.0 to connect with other Bluetooth compatible devices without wires, Gigabit Ethernet and RJ-45 connector, an HDMI output to connect to even larger displays like your flat screen television, a VGA port, Headphone/Microphone jack, a high speed USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, an integrated Media Card Reader that supports SD and MultiMediaCard formats. Lenovo G70 is an Energy Star certified laptop with an ultra low voltage processor so the 4-cell lithium ion battery should give you an easy 5-6 hours on average use. has a solid full AccuType keyboard with a 10 key numeric pad on the side and a touchpad that supports multiple gestures.
17.3 inch widescreen energy efficient LED-backlit display with 1600 x 900 pixel resolution and TN panel offers high quality images with good details but it is not Full HD which would be welcome especially for such a large display, integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 with shared memory with the i3 processor offers better overall performance than the previous generation Intel HD 4400 and 5000 and is good for simple photo editing and other multimedia work but not so much for advanced gaming but you can still play the games of 2015 and 2016 at low settings. It has integrated front side stereo speakers with optimized Dolby Audio enhancements and Surround Virtualizer technology and sound quality is decent. You’ll get the trial version of Microsoft 2013 and multimedia program package Power2Go and CyberLink PowerDVD. HD+ 900p resolution this laptop has is the minimum a 17.3 inch computer should have and Full HD would be nicer but the image quality is still satisfactory overall (pretty good with sharp video and text if you do minor calibrations) and you can upgrade the 4GB RAM as up to 16GB is supported (has two memory slots) and change the 1TB slow mechanical HDD with SSD as they have been coming down in price. It includes a standard one year parts and labor warranty by the manufacturer, Lenovo which makes great quality computers and this is a decent machine overall with modern technical specs and features at a very good price, especially for those that want the bigger display.
