Silver and black Intel NUC5i3RYH is a barebones mini but powerful desktop computer with the premium performance and speed of a 5th generation Intel i3 processor and great visuals and graphics by Intel HD 5500 integrated graphics card, home theatre quality sound with the 7.1 surround sound and a decent range of connectivity ports fit into a small 4 inch space and is good for both entertainment and work- you can use it as a multimedia and light gaming PC or a home hub. Intel NUC is offered with the ultra low voltage January 2015 release Broadwell dual core Intel i5-5010U (3MB L3 cache) at 2.10GHz fixed speed- no turbo boost but hyper threading feature for dual cores to work with four threads and to use the CPU better and it has office work and multimedia capabilities and even more demanding software and apps and multitasking, supports two sticks for a memory size of up to 16GB DDR3L SDRAM at 1866MHz and there is no HDD installed but for storage you’ll find room for a 2.5 inch Serial ATA/600 3.0 or an M.2 Solid State Drive.

It doesn’t come with a monitor, keyboard or a mouse and is just the mini box to connect your peripherals and screen or TV through the mini HDMI interface. Graphics card is the integrated Intel HD 5500 with 4K display support that performs up to 25% better than the Intel HD 4400 and even outperforms the HD 5000 that we have seen on some Haswell processors. You experience decent sound quality thanks to the High Definition Audio 7.1 channel surround sound but will largely depend on the quality of the speakers you use. You have the Bluetooth 4.0 by default so you’re welcome to connect wireless speakers and the system supports Intel WiDi- Wireless Display meaning you won’t need cables to connect your smart phone, tablet or you Intel based PC to your large screen HDTV.

Conclusion: Intel NUC5i3RYH is a totally scaleable tiny square 4 inch but a powerful desktop box with a Passmark benchmark score of 2863 as of this review day for work and play with the latest Broadwell Intel i3 processor, support for up to 16GB of memory, Intel HD 5500 graphics with 4K support, 7.1 surround sound, 802.11ac faster WiFi with wider coverage, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.0, 4 x USB 3.0 ports, mini HDMI, mini DisplayPort, room for a 2.5 inch HDD or SSD, Intel WiDi- Wireless Display, a consumer infrared sensor, built-in security to keep the nasty threats away and to keep your ID’s and confidential information safe. It comes with long 3 years limited warranty, which is 1 year for most of the other laptops and desktops on the market. So you have something special and unique here and offered with a relatively low price tag.
