HP Envy 13-ab016nr Laptop with i5-7200U
HP ENVY 13-ab016nr is a new release, 13.3 inch Full HD display, modern notebook with a superb design that gives it a close resemblance to Macbook Pro, a very solid construction of carbonised aluminium, carbon fiber chassis with minimal plastic, high-end technical specs, performance, modern connectivity and a very impressive all day battery life. It comes with the seventh generation Kaby Lake ultra low voltage Intel i5-7200U processor at 2.5GHz to 3.1Ghz speed with turbo boost and hyperthreading for dual cores and four threads, an onboard 8GB LPDDR3 SDRAM for great multitasking power, a spacious and fast 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive and Windows 10 operating system. You have the option to purchase it with a 128GB USB 3.0 Sandisk flash drive as you’ll see on the Amazon product page. This computer boots up and shuts down very fast thanks to the Windows 10 operating system and especially the SSD instead of the mechanical drive, which also ensures faster opening of files.
13.3-inch diagonal eDP Brightview WLED-backlit FHD glossy display has 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and IPS panel offers up to 178-degree viewing angles. It has the built-in Intel HD 620 graphics card with a video card benchmark score of 920, and a shared memory with the main processor. Despite offering a reasonable media performance, it is not an equivalent of at least a mid-range dedicated GPU as this is not designed as a gaming machine. But you can definitely play the latest titles of 2015 or 2016 at reduced settings. HP Envy 13-ab016nr weighs only 3.3 pounds and measures 8.9 x 12.83 x 0.55 inches, so it is super slim, compact and lightweight, and will fit in your bag and you can take it anywhere you go with its amazing battery life of up to 14 hours (less with more demanding battery draining tasks). HP Fast Charge allows you to charge the laptop up to 90% in 90 minutes. There is no DVD Optical Drive because of size restrictions and no Ethernet, but 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.2, 1 x USB 3.1 port, 2 x USB 3.1 Type-C ports, an HDMI output, Media Card Reader and a Headphone-out/Microphone-in Combo jack.
The special lifted hinge design helps lift the keyboard for a more natural and comfy typing position along with a better air flow and the keyboard is full size with spaced out keys (without the numeric pad but with a very large and responsive trackpad) and backlit. You will hear very rich sound with deep and solid bass and without any of the tinny effect even at high volumes, with the Bang & Olufsen dual speakers and HP Audio Boost. You can comfortably use software like Photoshop and edit photos and videos at a certain level as the Kaby Lake Intel i5 processor gives you enough power for both your day-to-day and demanding tasks with a processor Passmark benchmark score of 4699 at the moment. 8GB memory will be more than enough for most users and can not be replaced as is the case with most ultrabooks but the SSD can certainly be upgraded if you need more storage space. You will see a bit of junkware when you first start the computer and you’re better off without some of them and simply remove them for a better performance. But overall for how much it costs, this is a fast and powerful computer with a beautiful modern design, very long battery life, adequate connectivity and good quality screen and audio that make it suitable for a variety of tasks at home, in the office or on the road.
