Dell Inspiron 15 i5555-2866SLV Laptop

Dell Inspiron 15 i5555-2866SLV is a 15.6 inch touchscreen laptop with a mid-range AMD A series processor, large memory and hard drive, a responsive and comfortable Precision trackpad, a backlit keyboard which is not common for low cost laptops, three USB ports, a DVD Optical drive and a good variety of connectivity at a low price. It comes with a dual core AMD A10-8700P processor at 1.80GHz speed up to 3.20GHz, 8GB DDR3L SDRAM memory at 1600MHz to run a few browsers and apps simultaneously, 1TB SATA HDD at 5400rpm spindle speed and the pre-installed Windows 10 operating system that is more popular than the latest Windows 8. 15.6 inch high definition LED-backlit touch display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution supports 10-finger multiple gestures, and works with the integrated AMD Radeon R6 graphics card with shared memory that can be compared to Intel HD 4600 so you can play some of the newer titles at low to medium settings and at 20-25 frames per second but high settings for games like WOW or Minecraft. Sound is pretty good with the Waves MaxxAudio Pro and stereo speakers and there is a decent HD webcam at 1280×720 resolution embedded at the screen bezel for your live Skype chats or videoconferences with colleagues.

Connectivity options include the Tray Load DVD Optical Drive that reads and writes to DVD/CD, 802.11bgn wireless (Miracast enabled), 10/100 Ethernet with RJ-45 for wired internet access, Bluetooth 4.0 to connect to speakers, printers and other Bluetooth enabled devices wirelessly, an SD Card Reader, an HDMI output, a USB 3.0 port for fast data transfers, 2 x USB 2.0 ports (no new USB Type-C port), a Headphone output/Microphone input combo and a Security lock slot. Silver Dell Inspiron looks nice and modern with a similar design to previous Inspiron’s, weighs 5.34 pounds and has dimensions of 14.96 x 10.25 x 0.95 inches- average weight and thickness for a 15.6 inch laptop for portability and with about 4 hours of battery life from its 4-cell lithium ion battery on light to average use. Keyboard is backlit and is comfortable to type on both in the light and dark, has a 1.4mm keyboard travel, a 10-key numeric pad on the right hand side and the good size and the Precision touchpad that measures 105 x 80mm without the left and right buttons.

Dell Inspiron 15 i5555-2866SLV Notebook

This is a budget Inspiron with mid range specs including a relatively powerful upper mid-range AMD A10 processor with a Passmark benchmark score of 3585 at the moment with a comparable performance to the Intel i5-5200U processor but with a TDP of 35 watts rather than 15 watts and 8GB memory for very efficient and smooth multitasking and that is expandable up to 16GB (8GB is plenty for a great percentage of people), so if all you’ll do on the computer is watching movies, browsing the internet, work on Word and Excel, play light games or perform your other daily tasks then this will be more than enough as it is good for both the basic day-to-day as well as running more complex software. It is suitable for both home and office use and will work smoothly without lagging in most tasks and 1TB at 5400rpm storage is great for size but not so much for speed and you can always swap it with an SSD for snappier performance. Screen is not Full HD and no IPS panel, both of which would add to the cost significantly and this being a low priced machine, you are getting quite good value for your money if you are a light or mid-range user who is not into advanced gaming or professional photo or video editing.
