Silver Inspiron i5548-4167SLV is one of the latest Signature Edition 15.6 inch touchscreen laptops by Dell with an ultra low voltage January 2015 release Intel i5 processor, very generous amounts of storage and memory, good connectivity, very modern design and a nice set of features that you’ll see below. Dell Inspiron i5548 has the fifth generation Broadwell dual core Intel i5-5200U processor at 2.2 GHz – 2.7 GHz with a Passmark score of 3527 at the time of this review (high mid range with performance up to 15% faster than i5-4200U and equal to i5-4300U) with turbo boost and hyper threading and a Thermal Design Power- TDP of 15 watts, 12GB dual channel DDR3L SDRAM at 1600MHz, 1TB Serial ATA hard drive at 5400rpm rotating speed and Window 8.1 64 bit operating system. System has enough power to work with very demanding apps and programs and will multitask smoothly thanks to the Broadwell i5 and 12GB memory combination but the demanding 2015 games can be played at only (very) low settings and resolutions.

Conclusion: Inspiron i5548-4167SLV is a great value Signature Edition touchscreen computer that runs quickly, looks great with a sharp aluminum design, has a very good quality touch display with crisp and clear images, has the power of a fifth generation Intel i5 processor with 30% more power efficiency than the previous models (this resulting in longer battery life) and offers smooth multitasking of 12GB memory. Intel RealSense 3D camera is a new smart technology that lets you communicate with your laptop without having to touch any buttons or screen surface, which also means playing games in futuristic 3D. Battery is not the removable variety and there is no SSD on this model but a large HDD hard drive, you can just install one as the SSD prices are much better than before. As a Signature Edition PC there is no preinstalled trialware, junkware or bloatware, meaning it is cleaner, faster, has longer battery life and the free Windows Defender. It is capable of playing all games- older games at high and the latest games at lower settings but no problems with daily multimedia tasks including photo editing work, can handle simple daily tasks very well as well as the much tougher and heavier stuff for work and entertainment, offers impressive sound, has awesome Full HD screen with much nicer picture quality than the regular HD resolution screens you will find on most low end and mid-range computers, is very durable (keystrokes, lid/hinges, heat and other criteria) and with great Dell customer service and technical support to resolve any issues you may have.
