Dell Inspiron 15 5000 Series Premium-built I5558-2571BLK

Dell Inspiron i5558-2571BLK is the latest premium 2015 model 15 5000 series 15.6 inch screen laptop with the fifth generation Intel i7 processor and generous amounts of memory and hard drive along with great sound and decent picture quality. It is suitable for use at work, school or home if you want a machine that will handle your daily tasks smoothly and quickly: Speed and feature to price ratio is quite high, which means you’re getting pretty good value for money. Dell Inspiron i5558 has the dual core Broadwell Intel i7-5500U ultra low voltage processor (3M cache) at 2.4GHz speed up to 3GHz speed with Intel Turbo boost for additional power when you need it (stays at minimum speed in normal tasks to save on energy) and hyper threading for four way processing for improved efficiency, 6GB DDR3L SDRAM at 1600MHz for decent reliable multitasking to run multiple apps and browsers smoothly, 1TB Serial ATA hard drive at 5400rpm rotating speed as ample storage and 64-bit Windows 8.1 operating system which you can upgrade to the latest Windows 10 free of charge. It has enough power for office and multimedia, multitasking and very demanding applications.

15.6 inch TruLife LED-backlit high definition screen with a maximum screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels offers clear and realistic picture and Intel HD graphics 5500 with share video memory provides enough graphics power to handle light gaming, some level of photo editing and other multimedia tasks. You’ll hear very decent quality sound through the integrated stereo speakers and Waves MaxxAudio during music, videos and games. It has a 720p resolution HD webcam with integrated microphone to chat comfortably with friends and family live on Skype. Sleek, modern and professional looking black Dell Inspiron weighs 5.31 pounds and measures 14.0 x 10.25 x 0.95 inches- so it is compact and portable enough to take with you on the go (it is not too big or heavy) but still has the large 15.6 inch screen. Connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless with three times more speed and wider coverage, Bluetooth 4.0 to synchronise with other Bluetooth compatible peripherals, Ethernet LAN for wired internet, 1 x USB 3.0 port for up to ten times faster data transfers, 2 x USB 2.0 ports to hook up more peripherals, HDMI 1.4 output, a Media Card Reader that supports SD, SDHC and SDXC formats and an Optical DVD Drive. It is fun to type on its functional and ergonomic non-backlit keyboard with nicely spaced out and solid feeling keys without any sticking, 10-key numeric pad and a one piece touchpad that seems to respond well to both Win 8 and 10 functions.

Conclusion: Dell Inspiron i5558-2571BLK has a sleek and modern design, looks quite good in black and is built to be quite durable and was made to pass several tests before being released into the market so although we don’t recommend you drop the machine, it is built to withstand. 5400rpm for standard read and write is slower than 7200rpm and much slower than SSD but is still adequate for general use as slower speed is compensated by the large 1TB space that can hold quite a few photos, song and movies and although 6GB RAM DRR3L SDRAM is plenty you can upgrade it up to 16GB and upgrading of HDD and RAM by user is quite easy through the bottom. Our guess is that the 4-cell lithium ion battery should give you around five to six hours on average.

Cyberlink DVD Suite and 30 day trial versions of McAfee and Microsoft Office are included in the package and there is not much else junkware that you need to remove. One of the customers pointed out the lack of an indicator light that shows if the computer is on/off or WiFi and HDD modes but this is probably not a big deal? Sound is better than competitors at the price level (good enough to satisfy even a musician) and although it is not Full HD with IPS panel, customers are happy with its bright and crisp image quality. It doesn’t get hot even after hours of operation and works quietly with virtually no noise at all. This is not for advanced gaming or multimedia editing and you can still play the latest games of 2015 but at the lowest settings and older titles at higher settings. And this really is a robust, user-friendly, fast, powerful and an overall very impressive machine for the price level. It comes with the standard 1 year limited parts and labor warranty by the manufacturer.
