Dell i3168-3270RED 11.6 HD 2-in-1 Laptop

Tango red Dell i3168-3270RED is a 2016 model compact 11.6 inch two-in-one laptop as part of the 11 3000 series with a high definition touch display (rotates 360 degrees around its hinge to be used in four different modes of laptop, tent, stand and tablet modes) and slightly higher specs for computers in this convertible class but still maintaining a budget price. Technical specs include the quad core Intel Pentium N3710 processor (2MB cache) at 1.6GHz- 2.6GHz with turbo boost, 4 GB DDR3L SDRAM memory (4GB x 1) at 1600MHz to let you do quite efficient multitasking at this level, 500 GB SATA HDD hard drive at 5400rpm spindle speed rather than a 32GB or 64GB eMMC we often see on these machines and the pre-installed Windows 10 64-bit Home OS. This is quite a compact machine and an Optical Drive is not included and there is no Ethernet RJ-45 but 802.11bgn wireless, Bluetooth 4.0, a USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports, Micro SD (HC/XC) Media Card Reader to transfer files from the media card, an HDMI output for you to view your content on large screen in Full HD 1080p resolution. 11.6 inch diagonal high definition LED-backlit touchscreen has the 1366×768 pixel resolution and you will see bright and clear images with vibrant colours, and it has an IPS panel so there will be clear viewing at any position. Dell i3168-3270RED looks good in tango red, has a very modern design, is lightweight and very compact and you can hold it easily with one hand and the 360-degree rotating hinge stays attached to the keyboard at all times.

It weighs 3.2 pounds and measures 11.3 x 0.8 x 7.8 inches and thanks to the very low TDP of only 6 watts, battery life from the 2-cell 32Whr battery is very good (an easy 6-7 hours on average) so you can be away from power outlets all day long and you don’t have to worry about forgetting your charger at home. Keys on the non-backlit keyboard feels good to type on and the touchpad is large and accurate and less prone to errors. It has a built-in widescreen 720p webcam on the top-centre with a digital microphone so you have great live conversations with friends and family and the integrated graphics is the new Intel HD 405 with low end multimedia and gaming performance. Waves MaxxAudio Pro does a good job in delivering good quality, loud and clear sound with advanced audio processing and less background noise. Convertible models often don’t offer great performance for how much they cost, as you pay for the very compact, portable and convertible design (so you don’t pay for both laptop and tablet separately), touch display, long battery life etc. to make your life easier but they will rarely be very fast. This Inspiron has a new 2016 release Pentium four core processor with a benchmark score of around 1300, which is not a lot but 4GB (is also the maximum amount allowed) helps with multitasking performance and the Windows 10 starts and shuts down quite fast and 500GB storage is nice to have but is only at 5400rpm speed and you can certainly upgrade it to SSD if you know what you’re doing. And this should be a computer you will just be typing up Word documents, do spreadsheets, browse the internet or play light internet games as there is not much for serious gamers here- neither the processor nor the Intel HD 405 GPU will be adequate for anything more than low end easy games. It is a fine machine overall for the price.
