Acer Chromebook CB3-131-C3SZ (NX.G85AA.001) is the 2016 release 11.6 inch entry level laptop that is designed for those that mostly use the computer for internet and are not bothered with having a Windows operating system as this one comes with the Chrome OS and feels just like being on Google Chrome browser. The dual core Intel Celeron N2840 (1MB cache) is an efficient processor with reliable performance at 2.16GHz speed up to 2.58GHz with Intel Burst, 2GB DDR3L SDRAM is good for some multitasking power at this level and 16GB is not much storage space but it is an SSD and not a slower mechanical hard drive and you will be using more of the Cloud storage and will have access to your important files on any device wherever you are and it will boot up in ten seconds. It comes with a vivid 11.6 inch LED-backlit high definition ComfyViewTM widescreen display with 1366×768 pixel resolution that offers great visuals, IPS panel for much larger viewing angles horizontally and vertically and Intel HD graphics for performing basic daily multimedia tasks but not complex games. It is made of solid plastic and durable, has quite a modern, sleek and smart design, looks good in denim white and is probably one of the thinnest Chromebook’s on the market. Up to 9 hours of battery life from its 3-cell lithium polymer battery (3220 mAh) is impressive so you can use it all day without having to recharge and as it is compact and lightweight- weighs 2.43 pounds and measures 8.03 x 11.57 x 0.73 inches so you can take it anywhere easily- it is less powerful but more portable.
Acer Chromebook doesn’t include a DVD drive but the fast 802.11ac wireless (with MIMO technology- dual band 2.4GHz and 5GHz) that will let you have quick access to internet for great entertainment, Bluetooth 4.0, SD Card Reader for transferring multimedia- movies, photos from a tablet or camera, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI output with HDCP support so you can view your screen on your big screen HDTV or another external display. You can comfortably surf the net, watch movies, listen to music, run your favourite apps smoothly and perform your daily tasks with the Celeron N2840 and 2GB memory, and the 16GB SSD will give you overall quicker performance and you’ll hear decent sound through two integrated speakers and HD Audio and a HD webcam with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. This is a great little reliable Chromebook at a very affordable price if you’re happy with doing almost everything online on Google Chrome and other Google apps like YouTube, Search, Gmail, Google Docs and Hangouts for simple daily tasks, works quietly with its fanless design and without moving parts, SSD rather than HDD means weight is kept down and the whole thing feels snappier with also the battery life extended and although it is only 16GB you’ll get 100GB Cloud based storage free through Google Drive. You don’t have any security worries with Chrome OS as it has constant software and security updates that is done automatically in the background. So it will all come down to what you want from a computer and if you will be on internet most of the time and want something cheap and reliable then there is no reason why you shouldn’t consider this Chromebook.
