Acer Aspire TC-865-UR13 is a modern desktop computer with a powerful 9th generation Intel i3-9100 processor, 1TB hard drive at 7200rpm rotating speeed, 8GB DDR4 SDRAM memory, Windows 10 Home operating system and modern connectivity including the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooh 5.0 and DVD-RW Optical Drive.
The quad core Intel i3-9100 is a quarter 2 of 2019 release, ninth generation quad core processor (6MB of Intel Smart Cache, 4 cores and 4 threads) that works at speeds between 3.6 to 4.2GHz. The typical Thermal Design Power is 65 watts, which is fine for a fairly powerful desktop processor. The high bandwidth 8GB DDR4 SDRAM (1x 8GB Samsung) at 2666 MHz makes this machine a capable multitasker, also with the help of the Intel i3-9100 processor.
The power supply is 300 watts but it doesn’t mean it will consume 300 watts of energy on average and in reality it is much less. It has a variety of connectivity options and ports including the 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 connector, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, 2 x HDMI outputs, a VGA port, a USB 3.1 Type-C gen 2 port at up to 10Gbps speed, 2 x USB 3 1 gen 1 ports, 4 x USB 2 0 Ports, a USB 3 1 Gen 2 port, and a VGA port. It comes with a USB keyboard and mouse set and a monitor or webcam are not included. The DVD-RW is an 8x DVD-Writer double layer drive. It weighs 15.92 pounds or 7.8 kg and measures 13.78 x 6.42 x 13.39 inches.
In terms of gaming you can play some of the modern titles at low to medium settings and resolutions. It does not come with a dedicated graphics card and is obviously not a gaming PC. Graphics card is the built-in Intel UHD 630 with a decent video card benchmark score of 1455 at the time of this product review. It comes with the high definition Audio with the 5.1 channel surround sound system for decent sound performance. Overall it is a fast and powerful machine that can handle your daily and more demanding work and entertainment stuff easily.
RAM can be upgraded up to 64GB on two slots, one of which is occupied by the 8GB stick. Please note that this is power only without the monitor, but with a wired USB keyboard and a mouse. It comes with the Windows 10 pre-installed and is very easy to set up and you won’t find much of a junkware that you need to uninstall. Acer generally makes good quality computers and at the price point we think this one is pretty good for home, school or office use. It comes with a parts and labor warranty of one year by the manufacturer and a toll-free technical support.
