2020 Lenovo 1 IdeaPad 14″ HD Laptop
2020 model Lenovo 1 IdeaPad (81VS0001US) is a 14″ laptop with the entry level basic specs and features for daily computing. These include the AMD A6 series processor, Radeon R4 graphics, 4GB memory, 64GB eMMC flash storage and Windows 10 S operating system that can be switched easily to Windows 10 Home.
Lenovo 1 IdeaPad comes with a year of subscription for Microsoft Office 365 Personal if you will be using Word, Excel, or Powerpoint. The AMD A6-9220e is a dual core processor that works at the speeds of 1.6GHz and 2.4GHz with the turbo boost function. It has a Passmark benchmark score of 1629 as a low mid-range processor with enough power for everyday work and entertainment tasks and multitasking power. You really shouldn’t keep your expectations too high at this low price level.
4GB DDR4 system memory with high bandwidth is good for basic multitasking to run multiple browsers and applications at once. 64GB eMMC flash memory is not a lot of storage but better than the 32GB available on many similar laptops. And you have the quicker boot-up times and HD video playback support, better than a regular HDD drive. Windows 10 64-bit Home has the Windows 7 Start menu, Microsoft Edge browser with the web pages’ markup on screen and Cortana Personal Assistant.
Lenovo 1 IdeaPad weighs 3.1 pounds and measures 12.9 x 9.3 x 0.7 inches- is only 0.7 inches thick- is lightweight and portable. 14-inch energy efficient LED-backlit HD display has the 1366 x 768 pixel resolution with an adequate picture quality and a TN panel. AMD Radeon R4 is the basic integrated graphics card with a video card benchmark score of 398. It is more or less equal to Intel HD 4200 or Radeon HD 7470M and will only play the older and more simple games like FIFA fluently. The 35 WHr lithium ion battery should give you around 8 hours of uptime with light usage of web browsing, Youtube videos etc.
Connectivity options include the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI 1.4 output, a Headphone/Microphone combo jack, and a Media Card Reader that supports microSD format. It doesn’t come with a built-in optical DVD Drive, but external drives are available very cheaply and can be connected via Bluetooth or USB ports. You can only perform the light computing tasks like internet surfing with two or three browser tabs open, light gaming, video streaming, and word processing. This laptop comes with a warranty of two years by the manufacturer. If you don’t have very high expectations, this one will do the job for basic study and internet use.
