2017 HP ENVY 34 Curved All-In-One Desktop
The early 2017 model HP Envy 34 Curved is a very large 34-inch two volume design all-in-one desktop computer with a WQHD LED curved non-touch display, a very advanced seventh generation i7 processor, a large and fast hybrid drive, the Radeon RX460 graphics card for gaming and media editing, great sound quality from the HDTV style sound bar, Qi wireless Android smartphone charging and more. It is different to the standard iMac style AIO’s and has the screen plus base connected with a solid aluminum stand, so you have all the computer and sound components in the base. This is a highly capable system in terms of technical specs that include the quad-core Quarter 1 2017 release Kaby Lake-S Intel i7-7700T processor (8MB cache) at 2.9 to 3.8GHz speed with turbo boost, 16GB DDR4 memory at 2133MHz (2 Dimm) for all the multitasking power you want so there is never lagging or crashes, 256GB Eluktro Pro-X Performance PCIe SSD for the OS and apps and speed + 1TB mechanical hard drive at 7200rpm spindle speed for additional storage and speed and the latest and the most preferred Windows 10 operating system.
HP Envy 34 weighs 25.35 pounds with the dimensions of 32.08 x 18.03 x 7.87 inches so it is fairly heavy as you’d expect from a 34-inch display unit but is slim and certainly very easy on the eyes. There is even a blue light filter for helping you with sleeping better at night after being on the computer for several hours in the evening. Connectivity ports include 4 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.1 Type-C Thunderbolt, an HDMI-in, an HDMI-out, a headphone/microphone combo and a 3-in-1 Media Card Reader, Ethernet with RJ-45 connector and includes the 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.2 and the 230W External AC Adapter. 34-inch size ultra-widescreen ultra-thin curved diagonal micro-edge anti-glare display with IPS panel is new to us and this is probably the largest screen desktop PC we’ve reviewed so far. It has a very high 3440×1440 pixel resolution (total of 5 million pixels and 21:9 image aspect ratio) for super clear images and the curved design will get you immersed in action when you’re playing games or watching movies. The curve is nice to have on an AIO computer as you will feel the benefits more- will be much more immersive when you sit close to it rather than away like on a curved HDTV.
You can also connect other devices to this 34-inch display via the HDMI-in and if this 34 inch is not enough for you, just connect a second display through the HDMI-out. Graphics card is the high-end AMD Radeon RX460 with a dedicated 4GB GDDR5 memory and a video card benchmark score of 4211 that should equal to decent gaming at higher settings and resolutions and multimedia performance. Everything is not inside the curved display like in the case of other AIO desktops but behind the sound bar connected with an aluminum stand to the display, and the only wire will be the power cord as it comes with a wireless keyboard with volume control and mouse nano-dongle combo. You have a total of four front-firing speakers on this unit and you will get amazing- loud and very clear sound by Bang & Olufsen during your games, videos and songs and the sound will be delivered to you directly at a 45-degree angle, so you have a very decent home entertainment package with great immersive picture and audio. You will see a virtual dial on the top right-hand side of the sound bar and by simply moving your finger on the circle you will turn the volume up and down. It includes a high-quality HD resolution privacy camera that pops up when in use and retracts when not in use so no one can spy on you and you can use it with Windows Hello for face recognition. Overall this is a very modern AIO computer with unique features and plenty of power and speed for whatever you may want to do on the computer.
