Lenovo G51 15.6 inch AMD A8 laptop

Lenovo IdeaPad G51 80M80020US is an early January 2016 release 15.6 inch powerful, responsive and modern laptop at a low price with mid-range system specs like the sixth generation quad core AMD A8-7410 processor (2MB Cache) at 2.2GHz up to 2.5GHz with turbo but no hyper threading as it already includes four cores, 8GB DDR3L SDRAM at 1600MHz for multitasking efficiency without delays or freezing, 1TB Serial ATA HDD at 5400rpm spindle speed for large storage at average but adequate speed and Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system with Windows 7 Start Menu, movable apps and tiles, new Microsoft Edge browser, Cortana personal assistant and other user friendly new features. 15.6 inch diagonal non-touch LED backlit HD display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution for crisp and clear enough visuals when you are surfing the internet or streaming movies, graphics card is the Beema based AMD Radeon R5 HD with shared memory with the main processor for basic daily graphics tasks. Stereo speakers and Dolby Advanced Audio is good for clear and immersive sound and it includes a decent high definition webcam which is not super clear but quite adequate at this price level. Black Lenovo IdeaPad G51 has a solid plastic chassis with brushed metal finish on palmrest, weighs 4.3 pounds and measures 15.12 x 10.43 x 0.98 inches so it is fairly portable but you can’t be away from power outlets for too long.

It includes 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.0 to sync with other Bluetooth enabled devices, Gigabit Ethernet with RJ-45 connector, DVDRW Optical Drive, 2 x Superspeed USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port, an SD Card Reader, an HDMI output to connect to a HDTV or an external display, a VGA output and a Headphone output/Microphone input combo. It has a 4-cell, 45WHr lithium ion battery that lasts up to 4 hours of battery life in average use according to technical specs so battery life is not particularly long. Keyboard is AccuType with ergonomically curved keys and not backlit, has a 10 key numeric pad on the side, volume control keys and a small multitouch trackpad with dedicated physical left and right click buttons (the touchpad is not its best feature). Quarter 2 2015 release AMD A8-7410 processor has a benchmark score of 2592 and with 8GB memory you will have no problems loading web pages fast (which is helped by the faster 802.11ac wireless) or performing your other daily tasks without lags or delays, you have lots of storage space if you like saving music, photos and videos. Radeon R5 is just an entry level integrated graphics card so advanced gaming would not be possible on it and you can play only a small percentage of the latest demanding games at low settings and you’ll be fine with the old titles like FIFA or World of Warcraft and if you feel that you’re experiencing problems with the new Edge browser you can always download Google Chrome or Firefox. Warranty is standard 1 year on parts and labor by Lenovo if anything goes wrong within 12 months.
