11.6″ 2016 Acer Aspire R 11 R3 Convertible Laptop via Amazon
Sky blue Acer Aspire R 11 R3 is the 2016 model 11.6 inch 2-in-1 budget convertible laptop with a high definition touch display that becomes especially useful in tablet mode. It includes the early 2015 release modern mid-range Braswell quad core Pentium N3700 processor at 1.60GHz up to 2.40GHz with Intel Burst but no hyper threading and with a benchmark score of 1876, average standard amounts of memory and hard drive of 4GB DDR3L SDRAM at 1600MHz for reasonable multitasking for daily tasks, 500GB SATA hard drive at 5400rpm that is still large enough to save all your files and 64-bit Windows 10 Home operating system that proves itself to be quite user friendly so far with Windows 7 type start screen and brand new features- definitely much more preferred to the previous Windows 8 and 8.1. This is quite a capable little system for your everyday tasks for Office and internet but not so much the demanding advanced multimedia or other software. There is no DVD optical drive due to slim chassis and the convertible design as well, but comes with the more advanced 802.11ac wireless (Miracast enabled), Bluetooth 4.0, an HDMI output, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an SD card reader, a Headphone output and Microphone input combo and a 1MP 720p webcam. Acer Aspire weighs 3.31 pounds so it is not very light in weight but is aslim and compact as it measures 11.70 x 8.30 x 0.82 inches.
11.6 inch LED-backlit touchscreen with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and 10-finger multi-touch support but despite being a convertible it has the cheaper TN panel as the IPS panel with very large viewing angles and you should experience good enough sound through the stereo speakers and ‘Integrated Audio Processing’. Touch display is flipped around its 360 degree dual-torque hinge and lets you use the unit in different ways and giving it great flexibility so you can share the content easily with others as well. Intel HD graphics (Braswell) is twice as powerful as the older Intel HD graphics (Bay Trail) but can’t really play the latest advanced games. You’ll get an impressive battery life from its 4-cell lithium-prismatic battery- up to 8 hours of battery life partly due to the energy efficiency of the new Braswell processor with a Thermal Design Power of just 6 watts. Microsoft Office is included on this machine but you need to activate it through Microsoft store. If you want a versatile and portable laptop and tablet in one that works quietly and fast and offers quite a bit for the money, considering how much these convertible machines cost and the way you have to sacrifice on specs but it doesn’t seem to be so much the case here. And you have the touch display and tablet mode so you don’t have to buy notebook and tablet separately which means you will save some money and both the memory and storage space are more than adequate and has a sturdy build quality with smooth and solid hinges. It is fairly simple to use for all your daily simple tasks but for gaming you can only play the older and less demanding games smoothly and the non-backlit keyboard will be automatically disabled when you flip the display to use in tablet mode.
