2016 model latest Asus Flip 2-in-1 is a convertible laptop and tablet in one with a touch display and good performance for day-to-day and complex tasks with the January 2015 release powerful and energy efficient dual core Intel i5-5200U processor (3MB cache) at 2.2GHz up to 2.7GHz speed with hyperthreading (2 cores and 4 threads) with a Passmark benchmark score of just a bit over 3500, 4GB DDR3L SDRAM at 1600MHz that will let you run a few browsers and apps simultaneously, 500GB SATA mechanical HDD as decent amount of storage space so you can save your photos, songs, some videos and your Word and Excel files at the standard but fast enough 5400rpm rotating speed for standard read and write times and the latest 64-bit Windows 10 operating system already pre-installed as this is the latest 2016 model. 15.6 inch HD LED backlit touchscreen has the 1366 x 768 pixel resolution (not Full HD) and supports 10-finger multiple gestures and the graphics card is the Intel HD 5500 with a reasonable multimedia and gaming performance that you can expect from an integrated GPU and decent sound is offered by the Waves MaxxAudio and stereo speakers. Chiclet style keyboard is comfortable to type on but not backlit and has a clickpad touchpad that supports smart gestures.

Glossy warm golden gradient finish Asus Flip has a nice looking metallic shiny design, weighs just over 5 pounds with dimensions of 14.17 x 10.27 x 1.07 inches so it is not super slim or lightweight but offers you a good balance of ideal 15.6 inch screen size and portability and you have a big enough work area. Although this is a convertible laptop and tablet in one with a 360 degree design that can also be used in tent and stand modes, it comes with a SuperMulti DVD/CD RW Optical Drive and other connectivity options include the standard 802.11bgn Miracast enabled wireless, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth 4.0, an HDMI output, Media Card Reader that supports SD and SDHC formats so you can transfer your photos, a fast USB 3.0 port, 2 x USB 2.0 ports and a 0.3MP webcam with built-in microphone so you can chat with mates or teleconference with colleagues. It has a small 2-cell lithium polymer battery but the ultra low voltage processor’s TDP is only 7.5 watts so you can expect decent enough battery life- manufacturer claims it to be around 6 hours and it is confirmed by customers too. It runs quite fast with different programs and tasks as it has adequate power for multimedia and office and for demanding tasks and multitasking and although this is not an advanced gaming machine you can expect some gaming performance with Intel HD 5500 graphics card that offers better performance than both Intel HD 5000 and 4400 so you can play the latest games of 2015 and 2016 but at low settings.
